I like Block Party Bash better. It's high energy, fun, and is interactive. Although I would rather see the original Disney characters than Pixar, but I don't mind.

Block Party Bash is great. I think they should extend it to more floats featuring other Pixar characters.

A Block Party Bash for classic Disney characters are would be good too, but I think that's what the Move It! Shake It! is for! :D

I voted for Block Party Bash. I was a fan of Stars and Motorcars because it felt like a Hollywood style parade, and had good music. But I like how BPB has the party(?) zones and the characters/dancers come over and interact with the guests. I saw it for the first time recently and it was very energetic and worth waiting to see.

I really liked Stars in Motor Cars and can't stand BPB. I am the opposite of the last poster and I don't like how it just stops there and if you are in a "bad" spot...you are out of luck. I like how a regular parade flows and you can see everything from your spot since everything goes past you.

The energy and performance is very well done, but then make it a stage show if that's what they are after.

My DS is a Toy Story guy and because of our spot, he only got a quick pass by of the Toy Story characters. My DW took him and ran ahead and they found another spot and were able to see it, but it took too much effort than it should have.

I see what are you saying. They should label it on a map or on the streets "Toy Story Party Zone" Etc. It would be easier on everyone.

I voted for Stars and Motor Cars as I liked it MUCH, MUCH, more!

I like how Stars and Motor Cars used a LOT more characters than just from 3 Pixar films so there was a LOT more variety. You had the Star Wars characters representing Star Tours (it was always a highlight when R2-D2 would roll over to me and beep!) the Muppets representing Muppet Vision, plus a LOT of Disney characters representing both new and old animated classics from Snow White all the way to Mulan. And also, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto were in it!

Even with all those characters, Pixar still got representation with Toy Story and Monsters Inc.

I also liked the motorcars themselves which were charming in their design and also fit the park's theme of "Old Hollywood" perfectly. I just feel that this parade was much wider in scope and really captured the spirit, theme, and scope of the park much more than the current one. In that sense it reminded me of Jammin' Jungle Parade at AK, because both of those parades really ARE their parks, IMO, and fit their parks perfectly like a glove.

Also, music is a big part of the park experience for me and the parades are no exception. I absolutely LOVED the catchy musical theme of Stars and Motor Cars, which was written just for the parade. BPB uses regular pop music from outside the parks, which is "less magical" for me. And even if you are trying to enjoy the music of BPB, it is unfortunately constantly being interupted by the Green Army Men in full "cliched obnoxious DJ mode" with inane chatter like "C'mon" and "Let me hear you scream". How about you shut up and let us hear the music! ;) If you just close your eyes and LISTEN to BPB it sometimes feels more like a nightclub to me than a Disney parade... a bad nightclub! ;)

Well they are the host. Host talk during songs. The pop music is what makes the parade. Could you imagine them dancing to one little spark? I can't. I'm just saying to say that it sounds like a bad night club is far fetched. During the Electrical Parade Pete, and Alice talk over the music should we stop them also?

Pete and Alice in MSEP are completely different. The vibe and atmosphere, sonically, is completely different. When I close my eyes and listen to that soundtrack, I can picture Alice in her colorful, whimsical, magical wonderland, and Pete having a conversation with his best friend, Elliot the dragon. When I close my eyes and listen to BPB, I am transported back to college days of loud DJs talking on top of their dance music!

One reminds me of the fantasy world I can escape into at Disney parks; the other, a common experience from the real world that can be found anywhere. See the diference?

You certainly have the right to your own opinion, and don't have to to agree when I say that, sonically, BPB often reminds me of a bad nightclub where DJs won't shut up when the music is playing, but that's what it, at times, reminds ME of. For what it's worth, I mentioned that to someone else when the parade first started, and they got what I meant. I was just giving my opinion on the two parades, the same as everyone else in this thread.

PS. I actually used to DJ in college and never talked over the songs (or at all, really!) I preferred to let the music speak for itself!

I like the music of Stars better, but the energy from the performers and crowds makes BPB alot more fun to watch. Watching people on trampolines or seeing a green army man spin wildly while suspended by a portion of the Monsters Inc. float is more impressive to me than people sitting and waving on cars.

Stars had a good 7 year run, but its replacement is obviously enjoyed too.

Also fun to watch is the preshow on Hollywood Blvd. with the citizens of Hollywood.
