Love the resort pool, and the table service meals are my time to sit and enjoy! This trip I vow to have more "down time" to sit and relax and enjoy the POLY.:)

Well, since we take a break at least once a day and try and plan in at least one free day- we embrace the concept of down time at WDW. Here are a handful of the things we do...

1. nap!
2. drinks on the balcony
3. pool time
4. resort touring
5. DTD
6. Catching fireworks from relaxing places outside the parks
7. relaxing TS meals not involed with any kind of park touring

I'm sure there's more, but all in all...we find it nice to step away for a while. I know some people are opening until closing park kind of people, and I've done that MANY times, but I've found I enjoy the parks a whole lot more if I'm not trying to cram every waking hour of my vacay in strictly park stuff.

We usually go to Downtown Disney, stroll the boardwalk, sleep in, take a loooooong lunch or dinner break. :)

We try to plan our trips with enough days that not every day is crammed with park related stuff.

We have a motto when we are "in the world", you can sleep when you are dead. Pools, shopping, drinks on the porch are nice and relaxing, but we have all these at home. What I don't have is a 60mph music themed coaster, talking mice, race cars I can drive, million dollar fireworks every night, or hang gliding over California. We have gone to DTD a few times and I think we usually get around seven hours of sleep a night, aside from that, the parks are our relaxation. We've never even been in the resort pool. We only get to go once every two years so its all about the shows, rides, and fun. Commando, ha! Try Navy SEAL Disney! PS its just me and my wife.

I don't like downtime... given the choice I would just stay from opening till close, but seeing as I have to be considerate of everyone in our party- Shopping in DTD, Disney Quest, Water Parks, Swimming, riding boat to DTD.

Honestly I can never find myself relaxing at Disney World during downtime. In fact I don't think I've ever done any downtime before. Except maybe walking around DTD.

For us it's the pool. We also like to resort hop on the monorail loop, try a few cocktails, and let the wife hit the shops. It's very relaxing. I also just chill on my balcony watching the monorail go by, i could do this for hours, and watching the boats get going in the morning.

Downtime, whats that? Our downtime is when we go to bed each night. We can go swimming when were home, or mini golfing etc. We use our time in the parks including time spent in DTD. Even the days we visit DTD, we finish there and head back into a park. A two week vacation goes by way too fast.

We hit Downtown Disney, go to outlets (don't have some of these stores at home), eat off property and take naps.

Downtown Disney, Resort hopping and enjoying a nice Table Service with a cocktail in hand. I think in all the years of traveling to WDW we sat by the pool once. We planned some more pool time for this upcoming trip.

We need time for things to happen.

My fiance and i always schedule downtime days during our disney vacations. The first time we visited the parks we didnt schedule any downtime and we were exhausted after our vacation! LOL! On no park days we will resort hop and check out the disney resorts because they are all awesome! We will also go exploring the local towns and local attractions. If we dont feel like going anywhere that day then my fiance and i will just stay at our disney resort and enjoy the amenties on offer...it really just depends how you are feeling that day :)
