Our flight wont get in until about 3.30pm and probably won't get to disney until about 5 ish. If you were arriving at this time, which park would you go to or would you stay at your resort? Also the day we arrive is a saturday and although I really think we should book an adr for that day, we are just abit concerned that what if flight is delayed and we have booked the adr and wont arrive on time which will mean we will be charged for it. Would you book an adr or hope there was space for two of us?

We are staying at the Dolphin hotel x
You have a bunch of stuff to do around there. Walk around the Boardwalk and do a little shopping or have a cocktail. You might be able to walk up and get a table for dinner at Big River or Kouzzina. I wouldn't make the ADR. Worst case is that you won't be able to to do table service, but there are plenty of places to eat within walking distance between Swan, Dolphin, and Boardwalk area. Have fun! :)

I second Epcot. To make an ADR on your arrival day when you may not get to the resort until 5ish may be too stressful. I would say check in and get settled. Then head to Epcot - you can have a wonderful evening at World Showcase and watch illuminations. My last trip - I went to Epcot around 8pm and got fish and chips, creme brule, and the chicken wrap from Morocco and sat down on a bench and ate my food while illuminations was going. It was so much fun :)

Do you have tickets for each day of your stay or will you be using one that you could otherwise use for an entire day in the parks? If you have enough days on your tickets, I would go to Epcot also. For dining, I would try for a walk up at one of the Epcot area resort restaurants like the Big River Grille or the Captains Grille for a sit down. Otherwise I would grab a fast bite at a counter service inside the park such as Sunshine Seasons in the Land or at one of your favorite countries that offer quick service.

I'd unpack, have a quick swim (maybe) and then go to bed. It takes a little extra time to fall asleep the first night and you all want to get a good rest before you set out on your first big day. :)

If you have tickets for that day, I would certainly use them. In the interest of time Epcot and DHS would be my first choices...probably going with whichever one is open later. I don't know if I'd risk booking an ADR way in advance since you might have flight delays, but you could probably look for availability upon arrival and make an ADR or even chance walk up.

Go to a park! Forget about ADRS if you can't find a good place you want, just grab a QS meal and enjoy! EPCOT makes the most sense to me, always relaxing to walk around after being couped up flying all day, plus EPCOT at night is the BEST!

I would go to Epcot. Take the boat and you can be there fairly quickly after checking in. I would make an ADR for 7 pm or so and then watch Illuminations.

We wrestle with this issue every trip. In years past, we haven't done anything besides swim and we usually eat at the restaurant in the hotel. So, we do get an ADR for that.

But, then last year we decided that we should go to MK because we got to our hotel around 3:30 pm, so we really had a 1/2 day left. But, what we ended up finding out is that we don't like going to MK 1/2 way through the day on the first day. Somehow it kinda ruined the anticipation of the "first day here!" feeling. Plus, we were super exhausted from traveling!

This year we'll get to the hotel around 3:00pm, and we are going to go the park, but it's HS this time instead of MK. And, the reason we're going is to meet my brother and parents for dinner that night and Fantasmic! So, we'll see how that goes. Luckily, we won't be too exhausted this time around because Omaha now has a direct to MCO, and our flight doesn't leave until 9:50 am (usually, we're out of the house by 4:45 am to catch a 6:30 am flight!)

We always head over the Magic Kingdom to hit a ride or two and have something to eat. For the kids, it just seems to be the most "Disney" way to kick off our vacation!

We usually head to DTD on our arrival day, but since you have park tickets I say go to EPCOT! Enjoy the WS that first night, and hit FW later during your stay.

Enjoy your trip!
