What do I do with my luggage?

i am headed to disney in sept for a 4 day trip. we arrive at mco at 9:20am and i know that check in for the hotel is not until 3 or 4pm. so my question is, what do i do with my luggage? same question for on our departure day. our flight doesn't leave until 5pm and check out is at 11am. will the hotel hold our bags for us before check in and after check out? our plan for our arrival day is to head to the parks as soon as we get there and i can't really carry my luggage around the parks. we are most likely going to be taking dme and i know that they will deliver our checked luggage to our room, but since we are only going to be there for 4 days, i was planning on only bringing carry on. just wanted to check and see if anyone knew the answer to this question before i called and checked with the hotel. thanks in advance.

In Paris, you can check in, get your paperwork etc early, and even though your room's not ready, they point you to a little side room, where you can hand over your luggage, they give you a ticket and you go off bag-less, to the parks. Then, whenever you come back, you just reclaim your bags and carry them off to your room.

Same on the way back, check out, get the attendants to look after your luggage again, got to the parks, come back when you're ready to catch your bus to the airport and pick them up again.

Like I say though, that's DLRP, but i would have thought, and i'm sure i've read somewhere, WDW does something similar. Am sure someone will confirm or deny shortly!

if not, would your luggage fit in the lockers at the parks?

If you are taking Magical Express they deliver the bags right to your room, it does at times take a few hours to get to you but I have found it is very handy. If you have a carry on, you can usually leave it with bell services and they will usually hold on to it until your room is ready or until you return.

You can use the services on the way back, if you check your bags in for the flight back, they take care of it as well. And I am sure they will hold your carry on until you return as well.

If you arrive at 9:20 you won't make it to WDW till about 11 am once you get off the plane, get your luggage and make the ride over to WDW. You can check in at anytime and to be honest we have never had to wait for a room, but they will keep your bags for you if your room is not ready. Same with check out. And DME will take care of your bags if you are using them.

One word of advice, do not leave anything essential or of value in your bags.
Keep all medications close by as it may be hours until your bags are delivered.

Do you mean checked baggage on the plane, or baggage that you are letting bell services hold ?

If you want bell services to hold something that is of value - such as a laptop - let them know its valuable, and ask them to put it in "the cage"

Bell services stores most luggage behind an unlocked door. It is backstage and a CM only area, and chances are good that a guest that walks back there would be noticed and asked to leave, however ........

If you ask for your stuff to be put in the cage, there is a seperate locked area in the bell services area that is locked at all times and the CMs carry the key.

We have always had to wait for our room. It never has been ready for us.

That being said, we just give our carry on luggage to the bell services and they will hold onto it until you get back to the hotel. They will give you claim tickets and you can just call them when you get back from checking things out or heading to the park. Then, they will deliver your stuff to your room.

Have a great trip!

Silly question but does anyone know where the bell services is located at the Beach Club? Is it the stand that is located outside where the dme bus drops off people?

It's a good idea both ways, but I was talking about at the hotel.

If DME has your bags it could be hours before you see them again and if you need your medication you're out of luck. I wouldn't leave my laptop with them either and many people don't know to ask to have things locked up and CM's are not above going thru your bags either . We have never had anything stolen, but others have... Just throwing the idea out there

I believe they have the outside desk, but they also have a desk inside I think to the left of the check in desk if you're looking at the check in desk. There is a sign and any CM can help direct you.

I was never very good with directions.

I wouldn't check my laptop on a plane - nor any meds i need (if I had anything like that)

1) I would not trust them with not damaging it.
2) It's not mine, it's my jobs, and they say not to check it - more for the security risk if its stolen, not the damaged part.

However if I am checking out early and need bell services to hold my stuff, do that. My bag locks, and I also ask to have it put in the cage. If a CM wants to rummage through my laptop bag, they are going to have to damage it to get in. Then they will have some 'splainin to do. :)
