i have been out to see the sun rise once or twice in my life and even when i was invincible (college) it always messed me up for days.

I cant dog cyclist too much in the event that i try a sprint this next summer, but i have always marveled at how much 'e these guys can be.

Ill go on record and say that if i try a sprint, i will not become one of these guys and if you ever see me wearing a silly jersey with fake sponsors slapped all over it, kick my ______ please. :d

This was pretty funny (or so I thought)

Every so often, I see this Korean kid when I run. He must be 18 or 19 years old. He is always out on this huge longboard skateboard. I doubt he is exercising, as he aways has his hair perfect (all spiked with frosted tips) and he is not wearing workout clothes. He also always goes the "wrong" direction around the running trail. I always figured he was out looking for girls. Just cruising the track, going the wrong way so he can see what is coming at him (Hey, I used to rollerblade in the same park against traffic, when I was his age - and rollerblades were new and attracted attention, I know the score :) )

So today there were clouds of gnats along the trail by the river. I am running along, inhaling a mouthful, and along comes this kid and he is wearing a big dustmask - I guess to keep out the gnats.

So either I was wrong about him trying to meet girls, or he is going to have a heck of a time doing it wearing a dustmask.

I saw my face in the reflection of a car window as I ran by. My face was of pain. My right shin was on fire for about 200 meters. It calmed down after that. I think it is the route I run on certain days. There is this down hill about 300 meters. It always happens at the bottom of that downhill. If that downhill comes a mile or so later, it isnt hardly bad at all. I guess I need to run downhill better on my right foot?

On Sunday, in the parking lot by the high school track was a sippie cup. Today, I saw more mile markings on the road; 4K, 1K, and 6M. These markings must be from last years local 10K that occurs every fall.

Today at noon, I saw some of the friendliest Mexicans playing soccer, errr futbol, players having a game across the neighborhood at the park. They have a summer league that borrows our park. We also have some little league football teams too.

The players today thought I was a bit crazy running 4 laps around the track as fast as I could. Muy Loco (and for the record, that is about 2 of 12 words I know in Spanish)

There is a bunch of people (not Mexicans, mostly Puerto Ricans) that play soccer by where I run. The soccer fields are surrounded by a 6 foot high fence, and the running trail is on the other side.

Many times I have been running by and stopped to return an errant ball over the fence.

There were a few times today that a ball came over the fence. It is only a 4 foot fence. I was hoping that one of the family members wasn't taping the match, i get hit in the head from a rogue ball kicked my way and I end up on youtube with 1,000,000 views and on Tosh.0

This wasn't on tonight's run. But, a couple weeks ago, I saw a man doing traditional metal forging in his garage. He had a gas "forge" set up with an anvil to bang out the steel beside it. This is in a subdivision and not out in the country :)

Cool.

I saw FedEX home delivery guy have to run through a sprinkler system last night. Kind of funny. I would have killed to have to run through it and he ws trying to avoid it.

Saw one of the local landscaping guys wearing an old school WDW Polynesian shirt while loading up one of his mowers on the trailer.

A cop strategically pulling over two cars by himself; car in front of him and the one in back of him. Too many people blast threw red lights and speed around here, I hope he wrote some nice tickets.

Im not sure if you could get the smell out, but that would be a sweet shirt.

I saw a lot of walkers, quite few runners, a train of cyclists weaving through, and most notably, a guy running down the greenway in nothing but running shorts. There's your minimalist runner for the day.

Not so much what I saw, as what I heard.

As I was running tonight, I passed a woman who was talking loudly on her cell phone.

"Thats right, they put Vaseline all over my car. Just spread it all over. What's up with that s***!"

I was amused.

I dont care what Zen mood you were in, I would have laughed out loud on that one.

This morning I saw the following:

3 black cats 2 feet off my running path staring me down
1 gray cat asleep in his front yard
1 guy that looked like Danny Trejo standing in a Balck robe with Gold spots all over it. Creepy.

No, but he did look at me like he was going to kill me if I looked at his woman that was getting into their pimp mobile. Once past him, I was really waiting for a clock over the head or a knife in the back. Horrible feeling. Dude was creepy.

Today, I noticed a lot of survey markers in the ground. I ran by the local grade school and saw the sign for joining Cub Scouts. Also, the gentleman who put out his recycle bin a day early in the middle of the sidewalk, as I mentioned in a previous post, was at it again. This time there were a few more items with the recyling bin. One of the items was a box for a Kodak slide projector. Who else remembers those? I do.

On my bike ride today, I saw a number of blue jays. I don't usually see to many, so when I see one I take notice. Also on the bike trail, was a grass snake. That's unusual, I haven't seen that before. I could have ran it over, but I went around it. There were three fellow YMCA members on the trail. They must have skipped the Y, as I did, in order to take advantage of the nice weather. Also, taking advantage of the weather was Dwight. He is also a member and track coach at the Y. He was outside his office location, teaching a class. His office is next to the bike trail and the YMCA is about five miles away.
