What did you not know then, but you know now (and you feel embarrassed)?

I did not know that American Adventure was anything more than a movie until about 2003
Wait......... what

Well, there's my thing I didn't know before that I know now..... lol

I also didn't realize until this august that at the end of The Seas ride, the fish swimming around in the background are actually real fish from the fish tanks. I somehow didn't realize that until I was told it.

The American Adventure is one of the best shows in all of WDW. Sad you have missed it, but now you know to not skip it anymore. It is one of those don't miss experiences.

I was really embarrassed when I found out Geddy Lee is not a woman.
More on topic, I was horribly embarrassed when I showed Pluto my pressed penny that had Goofy on it at a character breakfast when I was 3. When I realized my mistake, I was badly enough embarrassed that this memory stuck from that young age. I still avoid eye contact with Pluto to this day.

when I was a kid I thought that all of epcot was in "the ball" and the inside looked like a mall. I got this idea because my first exposure to epcot was a tv show that first showed spaceship earth, then club cool immediately after. So naturally to my kid mind all the rides and restaurants must be in that ball! I was dumb :p

It's funny how we interpret things as children, not dumb at all.

Well, how is it even like?
It's just a 30 minute animatronic show looking back at America's history and achievements, it's essentially what you would expect if the Hall of Presidents had a baby with the Carousel of Progress. If you are a proud American with a keen interest in American history and culture then I'm sure it will be of interest but if not then it is skippable in my opinion, though as I say you should try everything at WDW once and then skip things on subsequent visits.

I didn't know you could book a 5th, 6th, 7th etc Fast Pass. Everything I read seemed to say something along the lines of "if you use up your three fastpasses you can book a fourth!" So we always just had four and thought we couldn't book any more than that. Mind blown when I found out. Didn't end up being all that great though since all the good rides are unavailable by then.

On a side note - Maybe it's because I'm Canadian but we hated the American Adventure. Walked out a bit early. It just felt like we were being bombarded with American pride propaganda.

Erm... 'American Adventure' = Adventures about America
Just shows some bits of some key times in America's history.

The fascination of American Adventure to me is the movements of the animatronics. There are roughly a dozen "rounds" of different sets of animatronics that make it onto the stage during the show and it's fascination to watch them rotate throughout.
It is even more impressive if you have done one of the tours and seen how it all works.
