What became of the plans to update the Great Movie Ride?

The gun scene is still sometimes done in the underworld. I rode it twice in the last week and once it was done in the bank and once in the underworld. I think it may depend on what car you are.

When we went on it, the Underworld was a guy and the Bank robber was a woman

I went in February of 2004 and the munchkins had been changed from when I went in 2002. They are all on the right side. I looked towards the left and was surprised no munchkins were coming out. The munchkins also looked much different.

I am much surprised at the amount of people who want this ride removed...it should stay...it's as much of an institution to this park as is Spaceship Earth is to Epcot...perhaps updated..but to tear down for a completely different attraction is ludicrous

I was fortunate enough to grill a GMR cast member a few months ago and was able to get some relatively stable info about upcoming changes.

-After the MGM deal is over expect big scene changes to remove no longer useable MGM movies. Once you get rid of these the only really big job you have is fixing the OZ scene. Expect this to happen sometime late next year probably after the stunt show has been going for a while. As for why they took a while to clean up the show I heard it was mostly mechanical stuff, things the normal guest wouldnt notice.

-Dont expect any changes to the actual ride itself. Its gonna be the same old little nephew of Universe of Energy.
