What are your "waiting in line" pet peeves?

Kids playing/sitting on the chains/ropes in line. If I wanted to hear chains, I'd join the local theater production of "A Christmas Carol"

People standing too close is also a peeve, espicially kids that keep stepping on my heels when the line moves. GRRRRR....

When people try to cut in line. I especially hate when people try to sneak their way in front of you. For example, you're having a conversation and when you notice, you find a totally different family in front of you that weren't there before. My boyfriend just kinda shrugs it off, but it really gets on my nerves.

People getting right up behind you in line and trying to weasel their way in front of you. What my mom and I do is we stand on opposite sides of the line facing each other and whoever is slightly behind the other puts their foot up on the opposite railing. This seems to stop people trying to push past us.

And the flip flop thing I totally agree with. I had to buy a pair when I was down there one year because my shoes gave me blisters the first day. These were not you're average flip flop either. The backs are a good 2-3 inches high and yet still people managed to step on them.

Automatic wheelchairs and people who don't know how to operate them! I have nothing against people who need wheelchairs or anything, seeing as I almost needed one myself one trip, but why put someone in an automatic wheelchair if they don't know how to use it. My mom got run into by someone in one of these while we were standing at the hub watching the show in front of the castle. The lady we'd been talking to immediately asked my mom if she was okay or if she needed medical attention and called to the CM driving the horse drawn carriage who was about a foot beside her. We didn't realize that the lady was in fact a CM when we'd been talking to her. Luckily my mom was okay because she'd been wearing her running shoes which took the brunt of the hit.

Cutting in line. And annoying kids.

Both of these happened while waiting in the queue of Soarin. Because part of Soarin's queue is so wide, I guess people feel obliged to try and cut....STOP IT!! The annoying kid tried doing it, and then there was a couple who also tried to cut as well.

- Loud obnoxious teens really drive me nuts.

- People who try to cut in line get on my nerves.

- People who feel they have to get as close to you as possible in line.

- Unsupervised kids. I had one time where this little kid kept accidentally kicking my ankle, cause he was swinging his legs wildly while sitting on the poles. I gave his partents a nasty look everytime, but it didn't do any good. Pretty sad.

I hate tour groups in the stand by line, I hate people who cut you in line then pretend they do not speak English. I had such a case just last week over at MGM. So I told the woman and her friends that I would teach them English with my fist. Suddenly they understood and took their at the back of the line. I don't like threatening people but I also do not like being disrespected. I waited in line and so should they.

I get annoyed with out of control kids and their parents who don't do anything to calm them down. Last summer I was in the standby line for Thunder Mountain (50 minute wait) and there was a four year old in front of our group.

The youngster didn't want to go on the ride, and was cussing at and hitting his mother the entire time in the que. I kept thinking, if that was me at that age, my parents would have grabbed me and we would have been on our way back home no matter how long we were in the park or how much they had spent!

I also hate loud groups of teens. I know I was one of them once, but I don't remember being that loud :)

Smokers also tick me off! Where do they get off thinking they are lone person allowed to smoke in a que? No ssecond hand cancer for me!

People cutting in line...we were in line for BTMRR and when you get up to the ride in the "seat lines" and these little (like 5-7 year olds) jump right in front of us. Normally I am pretty mouthy but I was so happy to be at the MK, and they were so young I was going to let it go. However the guy and his girlfriend who had been waiting in front of us said to the mom (standing right behind us) "Hey lady you don't tell your kids to cut in line, this aint Six Flags." I couldn't help but laugh and she was obviously embarassed because he said it real loud.

Also at Fantasmic (which isn't a line but just as annoying) we wait an hour before show like everyone else, and people come in right before the show starts come all the way to the front and ask you to move down. Its rude but I always tell them no, these seats are saved.

1. B.O...... body odor kills me. im not talking about the "ok, weve been trekking around WDW all day, in August, i smell a little sweaty", im talking about the BO that barks at you and makes you hit the floor.

2. the guy that knows it all, but in fact he is completely wrong (like most bus drivers, lol) telling facts and storylines etc etc that are completely bogus.

3. the cell phone guy that thinks his conversation with his office back home is everybodys business and that the finacial status of Wall Street including his stocks are interesting to me. then he turns and bows his chest a little and gives a look around to see who was listening.

4. PDA couple....... the couple that thinks it is going to be the last time they ever see eachother alive, so they do everything (but that) in front of you in line. there is nothing more in this world that makes me want to puke (maybe see #1 above) then to see some mullet boy and his sweat hog groping eachother while in line to get on a kids attraction. they dont mix.

those are mine :D

Since I just got back, I have a ton of pet peeves!!

1. People who crowd you in line, thinking that they can magically make the hundreds of people in front of them move faster.

2. On the flip side, people who refuse to keep up with the line, and as a result there's a space of about 50 feet between the group in front of you and the people in front of them.

3. Kids who think any sort of chain or bar is a play thing. They climb all over it, kicking you in the process. Their parents totally ignore them, moving on with the line. If you DARE to move ahead with the line, leaving their kids in the dust, the parents look at you like you're a potential kidnapper

4. Large groups who send one member running ahead to get in line, and then one by one the rest of the group pushes their way through the line to catch up.

5. Little kids who fight with each other in line, kicking and hitting each other and all the people around them while their parents act like they are somebody else's children.

OOOH I hate that!! We did dinner and a show and got there an hour early to get a front row seat. Then, ten minutes before the show started, a tour group (yeah you know which one) hopped over the rope and plopped themselves into any square inch of bench not occupied. And no one said anything. I was soooooo mad!!! :fork: If I had known you could just hop the rope at the last minute, I wouldn't have bothered with the dinner

Seeing garbage in the queue. I appreciate the details put into the line and pre-show areas, and I don't want to see the theming destroyed because some idiot couldn't wait to throw away their trash. It's not like garbage cans are hard to find at WDW.

Kids (and sometimes adults) who walk so close that they actually step on the back of my foot. I've had this happen a couple of times. Once it actually drew blood, and made walking in the park really difficult for the rest of the day.

What I enjoy in the lines is when I am able to start up a pleasant conversation with someone I am in line with.

The funniest experience I've had in a line was for Rock and Roller Coaster. The woman in front of me was trying to ease the fears of her six year old boy. She said "You remember riding on It's a Small World? This is just like that!"

Three peeves:

People that won't keep up with the line
People that jump the line and join up with their 'friends'
People that don't go to the end of a row and stop in the middle

It is a shame that some people just feel obligated to ruin your trip..My pet peeves are a lot of the same:

--people standing on top of you in line--PERSONAL SPACE, please!!

--people cutting in lines

--parents who tell their kids to just 'sneak up front' so they can see.

--stinky people! :hurl:

and my worst pet peeve of all!!

--people who expect to show up for parades/fireworks 5 minutes before they start and get a front row seat--right in front of us who have been sitting there for over an hour!!! :fork:

1. People need to be a half a centimeter behind you, and bump into you constantly

2. But I also don't like the people who never pay a attention and leave 10 foot gaps all the time

3. I agree, people who don't know how to use automatic wheelchairs and blame everyone else. I saw this lady one over somebody, and then the lady in the wheelchair yelled at the person she ran over because she was in her way.

4. People who are loud, or cutting you and then they pretend like they don't know how to speak english when somebody says something\

5. When there's 5 people who cut everyone in line because they supposedly have two friends in the front of the line waiting for them

People who swear in line.

This one really pushes my buttons. I am not claiming that I have a clean mouth (you should hear me at home watching sporting events), but some PARENTS are horrible! I have on several occasions asked people to please keep the swearing to a minimum, and every time it has been in line for a Fantasyland ride. I got really upset once when a dad insisted on calling everyone a b--ch in line, because the line was not moving, as though we were the reason the line was slow. I looked at him once to shoot him a dirty look, and then called me the same thing. I don't take kindly to being called that, and a CM was promptly called over and pulled the family out of line. The teenage daughter and the two younger children were given fast passes (I saw the exchange after we got off of Peter Pan), but the father was aparently sent home for the day. Hopefully to put some soap in his mouth.

My other pet peeve is those people who cry about how hot it is, and how they are going to pass out if they don't get on the ride, etc.... It is central Florida. In August. did you not think that it was going to be hot?
