What are your thoughts on BOG?

My advice to those hoping to dine at BoG, and not being able to get a reservation, is to just arrive at the location and be pleasantly surprised.

When i visited New FantastyLand this past January, i was looking forward to dining here but could not get a reservation in the weeks prior to arrival. I figured if i could, i would try it. If not...well, eventually i will get to sample it since i visit often.

On the day i visited the Park however, i noticed a very short line waiting to get into BoG. I did a double take, as at that time i kept hearing about the long waits and people lining up as soon as the rope drops at Park Open. I realized then and there that i could have very well dined for Lunch if i wanted to with a short wait.

So the lesson learned was to just check it out sometime when you are in the Park and go from there.
Oh, and do not be at all discouraged by what a ADR screen is telling you...or that you cannot get a Dinner reservation.
Arrive early and take it in stride. If you really want it, you must will it to happen.

Enjoy...!

I'm guessing he means BOG is the new Le Cellier with how difficult the dining reservations are to obtain. Le Cellier was just like that before it became a signature.

Spot on :). Most folks wanted LC for the one point steak, and it became impossible to book. I see BOG going in the same direction....

So I'm wondering how long it will be before BOG is artificially elevated to Signature, just to reduce the booking load....
I'm guessing it won't be too long before the bump to Sig.....

While I know there are plenty of folks that say Le Cellier is overrated (some said that even before it was a Sig), it is much better than BoG as far as the food quality. BoG was at best a decent meal inside an architecturally grand castle. By no means lousy, but not something we consider a must do either. Had to check it out, did that, and will go back at some point.

Great pics, thanks! We also have reservations at Marrakesh and I'm sure we'll eat at Cosmic Ray's too cause we always do!
If you have not dined there before, my guess would be that Marrakesh will surpass your expectations!
Cosmic Ray’s is always a nice spot that even when crowded is manageable enough to get food and a table without too much of a hassle.

Check out the Liberty Square Market while you are the MK. Nice place to cash in a snack credit....Sweet and Baked potatoes, Corn on the Cobb, fresh fruit etc..... a true sleeper!

I don't see BOG going to signature. Not in it's current incarnation. The dishes are priced fairly low compared to what Le Cellier was at just before it made the switch. Plus you can have lunch at BOG for counter service, not something you see in any signature. I see that changing before anything.

So what are your thoughts on BOG? We have a 5 yr old and 1 yr old, would you try for BOG or maybe somewhere else would be better for us? Hoping to get Chef Mickey, Crystal Palace, Rainforest Cafe, T-Rex and Mama Melrose but still need a couple more ideas. Any don't miss restaurants for kids and adults alike out there? 180 days out on Monday!!!:)

I have been trying and trying to get BOG for our trip the end of April and no luck! But the castmember told me they have a counter service during the day they open at 10:30. My son (who is a teenager with autism) loves the T-Rex and Rainforest Cafe upset him with the thunder - just too noisy for him. We love Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's we will be doing both of those while there!
