DLR. I am also excited about Marvel/DCA expansion (really, any DCA expansion/improvement)... ToT conversion is not a great sign, but if they can deliver another Carsland, it will enhance that park that much more...

My vote goes for PotC 50th...minus the merch.

I have a feeling the merch will be good. Only because 50 is such a huge milestone. My hope is not for everything plastered with "50th" on it but for creative and unique offerings that pay homage to the classic attraction.

I agree. Wish they could come out with a line of action figures. That would be worth it.

You re in for a great time! How many days are you coming for?

Arrive on a Sunday 9 pm. Have Mon, Tue and most of Wed with a red eye home late that night. Don't even have to pack because DW is staying behind in Anaheim for a conference that starts Wednesday. Can't wait!!

Been to WDW probably 30 times and never had an opportunity to go to DL. I'm worried that I'll be disappointed but suspect I won't. People say the castle difference is most startling. Also Staying off site which we almost never do at wdw. But actually hotel is closer than most onsite at wdw.

Cool, I think you should be able to see just about everything in 2.5 days. It's just about enough time where you can do everything at a somewhat leisurely pace. And I have a feeling you won't be disappointed. As im sure you have probably heard, get RSR and Space Mountain ( you re here right on time, I think Ghost Galaxy is the most thrilling version of Space Mountain at DL) fast passes first thing in the morning. Maybe try to get Alice in Wonderland in early as well it usually has a steady wait time of about 40 minutes throughout the day and no FP.

Disappointment is unlikely. You do run the risk of ruining WDW for yourself though! ;)

This.
So much.

Experiencing the charm, detail, relaxed atmosphere, multi-layered themed areas and Attraction offerings, and the more laid back clientele of Disneyland will make you see WDW with very different eyes.

Disneyland will indeed 'spoil' you...and you may well find yourself preferring it to the somewhat chaotic and massive undertaking it requires to visit WDW these days.

I became a total 'convert' to the West Coast Park.
Never looked back..Disneyland is where it is at!

:)

Oh it's not until the new year. April actually. But to the point of the thread it is all new to me! :) And we don't mind single rider lines. Not sure why people avoid them.

Oops. Skimmed over the "a" and just saw "on Sunday." I wonder what it would be like seeing Disneyland for the first time as an adult. I love going with family From Over seas and seeing them take it in for the first time.

If I'm with a buddy I'll do single rider. But with the wife we do FPs or Stanby. We have a 9 month old, so when we re alone...

I would have easily voted for Fantasmic, but I'm not as excited for the changes as most I've seen are- so I'm cautiously optimistic but am worried this will be akin to throwing Jack into the ride.

I voted for PotC's fiftieth, I'm excited for the promise of new ride merchandise, since I think Pirates has the potential for some cool collector's pieces. I'd also be excited for a new music release but the one we got a few years ago was perfect, in that it included a complete ride soundtrack with no Jack :)

I'm also excited for the new Rivers, PTN's refurb and return, and the possibility of the original Space Mountain's return.

POTC's 50th is the sleeper for me. I think it can be really great or really bad. I'm hoping for the really cool collectors pieces like you said. For DLs 50th I understand they made great quality replicas of the talking skull. I would love something like that.
