What are the choices for a moderate-range 1BR/Suite?

I'd like to possibly book a 1BR/Suite type room. What are the choices at the moderate level? ARE there moderates with suites? I don't really want a whole villa - this is just to sleep 4, but since one is a small child it'd be nice to have a the separate bedroom to hopefully put him to sleep in, then the rest of us could stay up a while. Probably having a separate bedroom is not ESSENTIAL, but just wondering...

Well, right now we're booked for POFQ, so I'd like to stay around that price. I know the Values have suites, but I'd prefer to stay at the moderate level.

If you want a suite for the cost of a mod, you might consider going offsite. It will usually be somewhere between the cost of a Value and a Mod for 1-3 beds.

If you want to stay on the Disney property, you're going to have to up the cost for a 1-bed. Values, Villas, the cabins at Ft. Wilderness and various suites in the hotels have bedrooms...but you're going to pay extra for being in the bubble.

The Disney site doesn't seem to have a way to specify room type - there's not really a way to see all suites, is there?

to my knowledge, there is no moderate resort with a one bedroom (with a door) suite. However AOA is really not that bad. We stayed in a Nemo room with 3 adults & 3 small kids and did not feel cramped. The room doors are all interior and the food court has a ton of variety. The Lion King rooms are probably the quietest while Nemo and Cars a little more noisy. I think of AOA as value+ or moderate light. Or you could always hope for a discounted Villa!

Thanks. Probably we'll be fine in a regular room. I think we'll all be so tired at night, but if we want the kid to sleep and we want to read or have a drink on the terrace/hallway ( :) ) we can just put a movie on for him. We try to limit that at home, but at WDW I say screw-it! What's a few hours of tube-time once you're spending a full week in amusement parks? Plus, our 14 yo is going to earn his keep by babysitting.

I would try AOA if I was dead-set on a suite though! Some time we'll try it.

No guarantees, but you should call WDW reservations, let them know your travel dates and ask if there are any unadvertised specials for that time frame. They used to do that a lot more than they do now thanks to teh internets tubes, but sometimes they offer extremely good rates for rooms at Saratoga Springs and Old Key West, which has 1BR suites.

And of course, there's always the option of upgrading at least one of your tickets to an annual pass and that will give you access to some fairly decent Passholder discounts.

You can stay somewhere much, MUCH nicer than those Value places for about 1/3 the cost. SO MUCH NICER. It wouldn't have the Disney name, though. Not in the bubble.

But soooooo much nicer.

This time, since we haven't been in so long, we're staying on property. I want to get the lay of the land, but next time I could imagine staying off property and renting a car. I want to get a feel for what the driving around there is like first.

Fyi the moderates and value have not terrace/hallway. The doors go directly outside and it has a covered walkway. There really is no room for chairs(idk where you would get chairs from unless you brought them). It sounds like you really want a deluxe resort, but of course those are very pricey.

I'm aware of the setup for the moderates and values - that's why I used the term "terrace/hallway" and a smiley face (although walkway is a better word). I've heard that people sometimes at night take the two chairs in their room and put them out on the walkway so they can sit out there. But I would be happy to just sit on the walkway if necessary. No, I'm not interested in a deluxe resort, what I really wanted to know was if any moderate resorts had suites, which has basically been answered. Thanks!

I have been looking at the junior suite at Coronado. I would love to stay in one and there is still one available for the time were going but like others have said they are more expensive. You can look at it on Disney's web site.

I would look on this website

http://www.dvcrequest.com/

They are DVC rooms including 1 bedroom for way cheaper... Definitely worth a look.

Good luck :)
