What are some "Traditions" Your Family has when you go on a Disney Vacation?

Yes
We would always fly in early so we can spend the afternoon and evening at MK on our first day. We would also spend our last day at MK as well. My trip in 10 days will be the first time I will not be doing this which is a little sad but its okay.

For many years, our tradition was to start the trip with dinner at Biergarten and end it with dinner at 'Ohana during Wishes. This past trip we broke that tradition by starting at the Rose & Crown out on the deck to watch Illuminations, and it was spectacular.

1. First parks day, go to MK and ride PoTC first.
2. Take a picture of the kids in front of Cinderella castle.
3. Dinner at Crystal Palace on the first MK day.
4. Dinner at Akershus on the Epcot day.
5. Getting Dole Whips for dessert at the Poly.
6. Watching the Electrical Water Pageant.

The only thing I can think of that is true of every trip is that we go to Epcot on our first day. It's not meant to be a tradition though. We always drive down, so I think our first day is normally the same day of the week, and because of EMH, etc., Epcot is always the "best park" per crowd calendars. Oh! I also *think* we have eaten at Columbia Harbor House each time. Ummm, I always shop at Mousegears! Otherwise, we try to change it up from trip to trip.
We always go to MouseGear too. I think it's one of the best shops for t-shirts, hats, sweatshirts, etc.

Our first thing we do every trip is loudly shout out the name of a certain eating establisment just north of WDW as we pass it on the I-4 heading to our resort :oops:

My brother, father, and I would always play golf at Lake Buena Vista on "Transition Day". The time between checking out of one resort and checking into OKW for the next week.

When I was a kid we would always take a monorail ride upon arrival, which was pretty special because we never stayed on the monorail line.

1. Take a picture of the group while waiting for our bus at Fort Wilderness
2. The first ride is "it's a small world"
3. The last ride of the vacation is Dumbo.

Sharing a Mickey cupcake at Boardwalk Bakery on our last day (or as close to it as possible, depending on our parks itinerary).

We have lots of traditions! Too many to list but my favorites are:
1. People mover first and always last ride
2. Everyone must wear a hat!
3. Pictures on the first bus ride in to the parks.
4. MK first and last park (we deviated from this last year since DS7 loved all things Epcot but we all felt the magic was missing our first day. MK from now on will always be first!)
5. Staying at Pop but we hope to upgrade next time :)

I'm sad. I have been about 7 times in my life, but I can't think of any real traditions besides get a new Christmas Tree Ornament every time. Maybe I should start one. :)

more of a habit than a tradition, but since my wife isn't much of a breakfast person & a slow riser, i'll go have breakfast myself in the early morning.
i've gotten to enjoy looking around the resort & taking it in while it's still quiet.

Generally, we go to WDW after visiting the inlaws over in Cocoa. If so, the Main Street Electrical Parade CD is the last music before we cross the property line. (frankly, we do this also if we are coming straight in from SC.
We ALWAYS end visit on Splash Mountain at closing time. If they let us ride through a time or two at the end, so much the better. If Casey's is still open as we head out, we grab a hot dog and sit down at the tables while the closing crowd thins out.
There are restaurants where we ALWAYS eat. Cosmic Ray's is one. Flametree BBQ is another. There is always a full set of park maps that have not been creased in a purse or bag or anything in our possession as we leave.

Check into the hotel and head directly to MK. Have arrival night dinner at Casey's over looking the castle.
After check out on the last day we hit MK one last time, do a ride or two, and shop on the way out.
