Disney is soooo awsum but can be very expensive. Anything you can do to help save money for your trip is useful. What are some ways you save? Heres our favorites.....

Save ALL our change in a huge wooden Bank I built with disney stuff all around it on outside of box...change, dollar bills, 5s, etc..

Visa Disney rewards...huge help

We send away occassionally for Disney Dollars

we budget so much for weekly shopping...if we go below the budget set...extra goes into Disney box

We usually just wait until we get our tax return back and pay off the trip that way, and save money ourselves for souvenirs, tips, etc that we'll need for the trip.

Since this is the first trip I've had to actually save for ( other 2 were much easier to pay for as I only had one kiddo and myself)..

We are driving so all our change is going into a jar and hopefully we will have at least 1/2 our gas money from that.

I am really good with our budget and I know exactly what i need to send to Disney every week to have it all paid for by 7/05..the goal is to have it paid by May. Tax refund will knock about 1k off what's left ,but since I buy curriculum with tax money I can't wipe the whole bill out.

Giving up my weekly take out adds another $20 to the disney fund.. and over 32 weeks or so that's $640 spending money.. not BAD at all and worth giving up!

Glad your sense of humor is still intact, my friend.
It is the only thing keeping me from looking like this.

We have a casino not far from us and go several times a year and all our winnings go to our Disney fund.
We skip going out to movies or dining out to save money.
Bagged lunches for work.
Saving change.

Those are what we did, except I don't have a Disney Rewards Visa yet. After I clear my current credit card, that was the next step.

We used a giant blue crayon bank for the change and the bills.

It takes a little discipline and bookeeping, but we take the savings from coupons and our grocery store "loyalty card" and once a month transfer the money we've saved over to our ING account. It can sometimes be a pain in the tracking all of the receipts, but we usually cover hotel and dining costs in the end....

A couple of different ways:

1.I get commission in addition to my base salary. When I get a nice commission check, I pay off a good chunk of the trip.

2.One very odd thing I do is every morning, transfer anywhere from $10 to $30 from my checking to my savings. If I do that for 6 months before the trip, I usually end up with about $3,000 in spending money.

Well folks I gave up Starbucks...... Saying goodbye to my morning Vinte Mocha w/ whip has actually made me a better person. I have lost 15 lbs and saved $1,400 in a 12 month period. I now make my own coffee at home just like a real person. LOL The trick is to actually take that $4 each morning and put it into a kitty. (preferably one that is sealed and cannot be opened!!)

We used to go every year, but as of 2009 every other- mostly due to costs.

we save change in a tin I got in MK and $25 a week that gets us most of our funds for the trip

I always go by "pay yourself first." If a Disney trip is on the horizon, I take between $20 and $30 per paycheck and put it in an envelope marked "Disney Trip. DO NOT TAKE UNTIL [insert date]"

I also do the change jar too.

I own a fast food restaurant and when somebody pays in American Money(I Live in Canada) I trade some canadian for it and it goes right into my american chequing account. Plus I am an accountant so I am really good with the books so I can put 300-500 a month away and still have money to do almost everything else. We do give up things when we are planning a trip too. Plus I get Aimiles that always helps

i have extra money taken out of each paycheck for federal taxes
that i get back in april

We use the same savings plan. lol

We do Disney with our tax returns. Other than that, sidelining extra spending for a few paydays prior for shorter trips. I got rid of all of our CCs so we pay for Disney completely with the return and set aside the rest for spending while we're there.
