What 2 Do On Arrival Day?

My family is torn on what to do on our arrival date.
My DH & oldest DS fly in & get to WDW around 1pm.
They will have time to visit a park before me, my youngest DS, & my DD get there because we are flying in around 4pm.

Our debate is whether to go to DTD & eat a QS dinner at Wolfgang Puck Express (we have never eaten there) or to go to Beaches & Cream for the kitchen sink (we have never eaten there either)???
Our tradition is to go to DTD on our arrival date. We always plan to go to Beaches & Cream on every trip, but we never seem to get around to it.
We do want to visit DTD during our trip no matter what we decide.

What do you think we should do?

I know how you feel... decisions, decisions!! Of course it depends on how tired you all are. Why not keep the original plan, eat at WPE, as soon as your family is settled in, walk around DTD for a while, take the boat to the Boardwalk, walk to Beaches and Cream enjoy the kitchen sink, watch Illuminations from the Boardwalk, then go back to your resort for a delicious sleep, then wake up and plan your day?

I would do Beaches and Cream! If you always try and go and never have done it, take this opportunity to do it! :) And then you can always head to DTD after that too. Or head to the Boardwalk!

forgive my ignorance on this but can you take a boat from DTD to the Boardwalk? I was under the assumption that the boats in DTD only go to PORSFQ or Saratoga? If I am wrong, i might have to have my DW revise our schedule

If I were landing around 4:00, my plan would be to have some dinner at the hotel, walk the hotel a bit and go to bed early so I could be up at the crack of dawn for rope drop...and still be well rested.

And No, you can't take a boat from DTD to BWI.

4pm landing, if you are taking DME you won't be at the hotel til 5:30-6ish I'd guess. Figure 30-45 mins from there to the next location, puts it at 6:30-7ish. Beaches and Cream can be tough to get into at meal times, so it could be a while before you get to eat. If you go to DTD first, you shouldn't have that hard a time to do QS at WPE. But then either you eat and try to hop on a Beach/Yacht club bus at 7:30, or you can spend time walking around DTD. If you do head over, keep in mind that there is no direct bus back to your resort from Beach/Yacht club. You may be able to walk over to DHS to get a bus back depending on how late it is open that night, or you may need to consider taking a cab back. The kitchen sink is fun to try, but if you just ate, odds are you won't finish it. I will leave it up to you to decide if hopping off a plane and then eating ice cream, cookies, and brownies for dinner is a good idea or not.
