Well lets see I live just south of Ocala. It took me a little over 2 hours drive time to get to WDW by way of turnpike to 27 to 192. Coming home by way of 429 it was just about an hour and 40 min. drive time plus traffic was way less stressful. From Leesburg I'd take 27 to the turnpike then hit 429 to Westway Gate. About an hour drive depending on traffic and time of day.

Thanks! About what I figured. I'm hoping that is not so far as to make frequent trips hard, but not so close that we get sick of it. At any rate, I'm still looking. Thanks for the info.

Aparently I'm not the only one who likes Western Way, Orange County was out in force today with 5 officers stoping cars just after the speed limit change. They had about 4 pulled over when I went by.

I took the western way for my first time today to check it out. I had just been talking about all the tix being given out at the world when the limit dropped down to 35 and said "can you believe this? 35.... but better safe than sorry". Still I couldn't tell if they were pulled over for tickets... the arrangements of the cars didn't seem to make sense (this was at about 10:15 or so).

For the record, coming from Apopka, taking western way to Epcot seemed much slower than taking the turnpike to I-4. I'll time each trip eventually, but taking the western way felt longer, between the lack of scenery, meandering of the roads, the 45/35 speed limit, and extra stoplights on disney property. Its probably quicker for AK, but for Epcot and MK, i'll probably stick with Turnpike/i-4

Thanks for the info Peter! So as I go from I-75 to the turnpike I pay $2.50 then I exit onto 429 and pay $1.00 and then do I just exit onto the Western Way and no pay any more exit tolls?
(One way to WDW from I-75 = $3.50)
The $1 on 429 is on the Expressway Authority portion, and it's a mainline "express" toll. So if you have SunPass or E-pass, there's no stopping or even slowing down, as the sensors are above the main roadway and work at highway speed.

I don't think there's an exit toll at Western Way, which surprised me because the Turnpike Enterprise's mainline plaza where they collect another $1 is just a mile or 2 south. Seems like the Turnpike is getting no money at all from motorists exiting at Westen Way.
