Western Way open (with pictures)

I drove over to Western Way today and as the reports on here indicated the road was indeed open. They are still doing some minor work (landscaping mostly). Along the road you can get some great views of Everest and the Tree of Life. And if you know where to look you can see parts of the tree farm, nursery, materials recovery facility, and the back of Conservation Station. It was a nice little road, and it was great to see new purple signs and a new WDW entrance arch. For anyone who cares the new arch has Mickey, Minnie, and Donald. And like the one on World Drive this one does have the "See ya real soon" when leaving.

The pictures are not great as they were taken from a moving vehicle but it’s better than nothing.

Yet another example of cost cutting! Not a single animatronic on the whole thing. I'm not going back now, even Everest is more exciting...

Dude they did the best they could, its a good ride. :fork:

How does this road effect Coronado springs? It goes right next to it? When I was there last year there was some sort of construction right buy Coronado springs, I think it was for the new road I could be wrong. And if so what kind of impact does it have on the hotel?
THANKS!

Thanks for the info Peter! Quick question: does this road come from i-75 or from the Turnpike?

I saw some maps on a thread before but can not remember where I saw them.:veryconfu

It really has no effect on CSR. You can see it from some of the higher floors in the Casitas section as well as the road around the resort. But there really is no effect on the resort.

Although they are moving the CRS service and delivery entrance from Bueana Vista Drive to Western Way.

Western Way (the road this thread is about) is entirely on Disney property. The road connects the new toll road 429 with WDW. Toll road 429 connects to the Turnpike. 429 travels south from the turnpike and skirts the western side of WDW and continues south to 192.
