Western River Expedition song?

I am in the middle of re-reading Jim Hill's 10-part article on WRE (http://jimhillmedia.com/articles/archive.0003-1.1.htm). I'm on Part 3 (I know I have a long way to go to finish it). Any way, in part 3, it goes into details about this never-built ride. It was to have a theme song, just like Pirates of the Caribbean has its "Yo Ho Yo Ho, A Pirates's Life for Me..." Any way, has this song for WRE ever been developed? If so, does anyone have any links of anything that was produced to create the song for this never-built-ride? I would love to hear it!

While we are on this subject, let this thread be the beginning of discussions about this never-built ride. Should Disney actually build it? Maybe in modified form? Where should it be built? Where it was supposed to be, in the Magic Kingdom? Or maybe they could find room for it at the other parks? Where?

I'd love to see an attraction of the caliber of the WRE somewhere in WDW, with cutting-edge effects and technology. I do think it would be redundant to have both the POTC and the WRE (or an attraction like it) in the same park because they would be the same sort of attraction (boat ride with theme song, Audio-Animatronics®, etc.)... It's highly unlikely this attraction, or anything close to it, would ever be built in the MK. I'd love to see this kind of attraction built at AK; I think it would work there if a North American area was ever to be built. As for a song, I have no idea if one was ever written for WRE... :)

I would have loved to see WRE in the MK. It was originally planned for Frontierland (in case you didn't know this) and was in the designing stage when the park first opened. The guests were outraged when they discovered that there was no POTC ride... and they complained about it. So in that case (because of their similarities) WRE was dropped and a new and less exciting version of POTC was built in Adventureland a few years later..

I personally would love to see this come back into a park... I just dont know where it would go.... :veryconfu

Wow, i had no idea about this, thanks for the link. :)

After having been to TDS i'm surprised it wasn't placed in the back section near the Indy ride, it would have fit in there perfectly.

I agree with SirNim that, as the parks stand now, i would say AK is the best location. Does anyone have pics of these storyboards that David did?

Early studios model

Great pictures! The mountain on the Studios model wasn`t the Matterhorn - it was the original Fire Mountain rollercoaster. One side was to be dressed to look like a volcano, the other was left open to allow guests to see inside the attraction. If only...
