I love South Coast Plaza...it's the only mall I shop at.

About two hours after I posted that, I actually ended up at South Coast Plaza late this afternoon. I wasn't planning on it, but I just ended up there while running errands. It is huge, and fantastic, isn't it?

They've already started putting up their Christmas decorations. Just like Disneyland. :D

That is really helpful - thanks so much for your time !!

How much do you think it would cost to visit the south coast plaza from the hollywood area - if its going to cost too much then i think it'll be safe to say we're going to have to add another night in anaheim. You can get a shuttle there for a small fortune from the DL/anaheim area.

I also thought about cutting out ripleys, guiness etc - prob just stick to graumans, capital records, walk of fame and a visit to warner bros - i could do that in a morning right? If that is the case i would have the afternoon free which would be ideal to visit the mall - especially with it being open until 9pm on weekday.

Would've loved to go on a bus trip to have a glance @ the stars houses i'm never EVER going to be able to afford  but i think i'm expecting too much for the time/money we've got !!!

Before I be so bold as to rearrange your SoCal vacation days just a bit, I have a question. It looks like you are spending at least four nights/five days in Las Vegas. Is that set in stone? Are you big gamblers? Or do you want to visit every major hotel there? That seems like a long time spent in Las Vegas. In my experience, you can visit all the popular hotels, see a couple good shows, and take a trip out to Hoover Dam in three days.

Personally, after about two days in Vegas I'm ready to go home, so I'm probably not the one to critique someone elses trip to Las Vegas. :zipit:

What I'm getting at is, would it be possible to shave a day off of Vegas and add a day to your Anaheim stay?

We've never been to vegas - we both really want to go, not for the gambling but to see the shows, hotels, casinos anything and everything really - perhaps once we've been we feel the same as you but as first-timers we'd rather have more days than too less you know?

Also i dont think us having to spend an extra night in anaheim will break the bank either - would much rather have to spend money there than have to get a bank loan for hotels in hollywood :) !!

Okay, while I sit and stew a bit about how we can get you to South Coast Plaza with minimal effort....

You are definitely going to want to get a SoCal CityPass for your trip. For 2008, it's $247 per adult and it gets you the following:

3 Day Park Hopper Ticket for Disneyland/DCA
1 Day Ticket to Universal Studios
1 Day Ticket to Sea World
1 Day Ticket to San Diego Zoo

If I'm not mistaken, those were all of the exact places you were planning to visit in SoCal.

That saves you about 100 dollars per each adult off the cost of tickets than if you just walked up to the ticket booth at each place and purchased the adult fare and/or the "discounted" multi-day park hopper ticket at Disneyland's ticket booth.

Here's the link to the website. They are a very popular way to buy tickets, and they even sell them at the ticket booths of the theme parks that honor them. I know Universal and Disneyland both sell them from their own ticket booths. But it also looks like you can buy them in advance. (I would just wait until you arrive, as it would be one less thing to keep track of during the plane trip and such.) http://www.citypass.com/city/socal/next.html?id=ztn7Nrsn
