Werewolf By Night (Marvel Disney+)

It was actually pretty good, which I haven't been able to say lately. Would have loved to have seen more, it could have easily been 3 to 6 episodes. So we could see his origin and the other monsters.

Also it would be awesome to see an Avengers like team of monsters (aka Legion of Monsters).

Just finished watching it. That was the best thing on Disney+ in a long time! Great to see Ted.

This makes me wonder. What if Disney did the Marvel's Monster Squad as an attraction? They would beat Universal to the punch on a classic Dracula/Frankenstein/Wolfman ride. Why Universal has never done anything beyond a maze for the Monsters is beyond me.

Oh yeah, they could definitely do "Legion of Monsters". It's had loads of different members that could be on it as well. They even brought back the Punisher when he died and called him Franken Castle.

I hated this show but I love that Disney+ allows Disney to experiment and make different styles of shows that won’t appeal to everyone, if others enjoy it that’s a win in my book.

Everyone won’t like everything but I think the D+ shows have been more hit than miss so far. Not a fan of this one but looking forward to what they try next.

That's exactly the opposite of what I see on D+. Most shows to me have been more miss than hit so far. This one is bright spot on a very mediocre line up.

I thought the movie was cute. Particularly fond of the scene at the end with Ted. Need more Ted!
Disney + offerings for Marvel have been disappointing lately. This brought them back up a notch.

Could we just forget She Hulk exists?

Enjoyable, but the tone of an old film versus modern stuff was a big disjointed. A few tiny injections of modern identitarian politics were completely unnecessary.

I also thought this special was pretty stupendous as well. I think Marvel is always at its best when they mix genres and truly give their creative teams the opportunity to be creative: Winter Solider, Jessica Jones, WandaVision, Wolfie. I always appreciate a big swing and a solid creative direction.

If I had to find something to critique, I wish there were about 10 more minutes in the maze. Once Jack and Elsa were in the mausoleum together, all of the stakes pretty much evaporated and there was no longer any sense of mystery. If they held onto that for even just a bit longer, I think it would have been much more fulfilling.

YES. I agree. THIS is what Disney said they were going to be doing when they restructured around direct-to-consumer a couple years ago: going deeper/geekier with smaller, niche sub-sets of their broader audiences. I'm happy with it, even if some of what they're putting out doesn't particularly resonate with me.

Maybe you're not the target audience for those you see as misses... hang in there, I imagine something you'll like is just around the corner! Please do try to keep an open mind.

I've been a star wars fan since the very beginning. If I'm not the target audience then Disney got something incredibly wrong in their focus groups.
