Were booking using the discount just released. We were planning on staying at POP, but with the discount we defintally want to upgrade. We think the fridge would be a nice added extra, having a resturant on site, and less little ones are added benefits!
Now we have looked at it and we can stay at a moderate for about 1300pp(this includes our airfare).

Now we cant decide what moderate to stay at!!!

I have stayed at CBR 10 years ago, has it changed? Are the rooms looking older now?
My friend is really interested in Coronado springs, the size worries me, along with the foodcourt style, the 10% they automatically add on, and it dosnt look like it would "feel" disney..
POFQ;what do you like? i like the look of the pool, but is there anything else?
PORS; i really like the look of magnolia bend, just looks so relaxing!

HELP! lol

I think with those choices I would pick POFQ. I like the look myself and I hear it is a better location than POR. I love the detail at Coronado but I too think it can be too big depending on where you end up.

What are your dates and what is the room rate per night you are looking at?

We stayed at Coronado Springs in Nov. 06 and wouldn't recommend it.

I had always wanted to stay there so glad to cross it off my list, but wouldn't stay there again. Didn't care for the food court or the pool.

The only thing we DID like about this resort was we were there on our "conceptionmoon" and came back pregnant! :sohappy:

So for that reason alone, Coronado Springs will always hold a special place in our heart....

I wasn't crazy about Riverside. It was OK, just nothing special. I was much happier at CBR. CS doesn't appeal to me at all.

I would at least look into uograding to WL or AKL. For just a bit more money, you might get to stay at a much nicer resort.

We loved FQ and would go back in a heartbeat. It was very relaxing after a long day at the park. The pool was bigger than I had imagined and the kids loved the dragon slide. The food court was also very nice and even when it was busy we were still able to get a table.

I've stayed at all the moderates except POFQ. Although the pool at CBR and some of the rooms have recently been redone, my first choice is Magnolia Bend at POR. It's so relaxing after all the hustle and bustle of the parks. I also prefer the food court and other dining (Boatwrights!) at POR over CBR & CSR.

Good luck!

We have stayed at all except Coronado Springs. Our most recent moderate stay was at POFQ, and I would recommend that resort. It was smallish, so there wasn't much walking, the landscaping was magnificent, the pool was a lot of fun, and transportation was good. I can't ooh and ahh over the food court, but it was certainly adequate.

My personal favorite of the Mods is the CBR, although we, too, haven't stayed there in about 7 years. It's where we stayed on our first visit with our son, when he was two, and later when we took our daughter, so it holds very special memories that probably color my experience of the resort itself!

Um, if you are still planning on booking using the new discount (7 nights for price of 4) I would suggest deciding very soon. I looked into booking it, and since the discount was released, every single resort for our dates (late April) is now completely booked. For us it is fine, because we have AP's and don't need a package, but if you want to get this deal, decide soon or you might not have a choice at all.

I hate the Peppermill food court at CS. I don't like the way it works and the food selection for me stunk, I'm a picky eater. Maya Grill for breakfast wasn't all that great either, but then again I don't care too much for buffet breakfast.

I think you are going to find mixed reactions on the CSR. We stayed there last September and loved it.

We ate at the Pepper Market and thought that it was okay, nothing great and nothing terrible. The quality of the food was decent, although we did not care for the dessert selection. We tried to get ice cream sundaes and the person they had doing that did not know how to scoop Ice Cream. I know scooping ice cream seems pretty basic but she had problems. I actually did like the fact that they serve you your drinks and clean up so I did not mind the 10% gratuity. I would equate the place to a well themed Marriott business cafeteria. Lots of different food stations, fairly quick and fairly decent quality for a cafeteria.

We ate at the Maya Grill for dinner and we definitely enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere. A good thing too is it is fairly easy to get reservations.

The pool snack bar has a decent quick service selection and a very good option for lunch if you do not want to leave the pool.

It is a big place, but the busses do stop at each area. We did see people being able to use internal transportation and were offered rides several times. If you don't mind walking it is very nice to stroll around the lake. The theme really does make it feel like a southwestern resort. The size also seemed to make it fairly quiet and relaxed. Though we saw our fair share of excited kids at the bus stops, lobby and pool the rest of the resort seemed very calm.

Hope you enjoy!:sohappy:
