Went to MK on Friday...what is with the sound on Pirates?

Wasn't this ride just refurbed like what, a couple years ago? The scene with the cannons is weak! The visual blast from the cannons isn't synced with the sound, and the splashes have no accompanying sound. I don't know...this scene could be so much better. I seem to remember it being better than it is right now. Is the Disneyland one at least up to par??

Not only is the POTC ride up to par at Disneyland its BETTER! Everything about it is awesome, the sound included. Also there are more drops and it is longer. Not to mention the fact that the Blue Bayou restaurant is actually INSIDE the ride. Its the original therefore far superior in my book.

I can't really say as far as the sound goes, but yes, it is way cool to see the Blue Bayou restaurant inside the ride. Kind of like the Three Caballeros in Mexico Pavillion, only the way the restaurant is situated is so neat. If you ever get to DL, check it out!

Yeah, I have been on the ride in Japan and it is the same way as Disneyland, except only one drop. It was far superior to WDWs. I love how the restaurant is inside the ride.

WDW's POTC doesn't hold a candle to DL's version. Much like California's Tower of Terror is a huge disapointment after trying the Florida version.

I grew up near DL, so I have to say, before we took the kids on WDW PotC, I warned them about the huge drop! After the ride, they looked at me and said where was the big drop, mom? I still love it, and it is one of our favorites, but not as good as DL's version. And the resaurant inside...I've wanted to eat there since I was little. And some day, I'm going to do it, darn it!

Everyone always says that DL's version is soo much better, but I didn't see it. I missed the Spanish fort themeing in the queue. Sure it's longer, but a good portion of that extra length is in complete darkness. Sailing past the Blue Bayou sort of interrupted the atmosphere by looking at regular people in tourist clothes. There were a few extra scenes that were nice, and the extra drop was cool, but I didn't find anything that would make me say it was "far superior". Maybe it was all that build-up that made me expect something more, but I wasn't all that impressed.
