Marcus says it was about as rainy that day as the October 1, 2007...

I was eight at the time and I was amazed. Solar energy, making dinner ressies through a TV, touchscreens, computers, this was all fascinating for me.:sohappy::sohappy:

I am not sure Jackie. It had to have been 9/27-10/01 because we did not know anyone from construction. Foolishly, we did not save any tickets or anything. I had thought that we were there for just the opening but then I came across this picture one day. That is Danny Kaye filming the opening special. Do you know if that special was live on 10/01 or taped prior?Ooooh... The 09/26 construction family preview, or one of those super-hush-hush soft openings between 09/27 and 10/01?
I thought you looked familar.:lol:So was I...

Yeah, the Danny kaye special wasn't live... the only section of it that was live (or at least closest to being live) was the very very very beginning intro section. He was atop one of the World Showcase pavilions looking down on the crowd at the Grand opening festivities. And the World Showcase Festival Program Reception and Le Carnaval de Lumiere took place on 10/23.
