Well I guess I will never stay in a Polynesian Bungalow....

Wow!! And I thought spending $1100/night (full package price) for a club room at the Contemporary Resort was expensive (IT IS!). Does a bungalow (room only) even include a club lounge?

But still I guess some of the suites at the various resorts may even top this. I wonder just what the highest room rate at Disney cost and where? My first guess would be the Grand Floridian?

Four Seasons Grand Suite over Christmas week is $8,500 per night. They won't even quote a Royal or Presidential Suite online.

Not anywhere I can find a price for. And anyway, what the heck are you going to do for 2 weeks there??

Enjoy the ocean and drink tropical drinks and do NOTHING AT ALL.

We go to the parks several times a year. Decided to stay for a month last January. Rented a 5br house in Davenport for less than most pay for a week at one of the resorts. Averages between $125 to $200 per night depending which season. No noise, private pool and we can still go to each resort to enjoy the ambiance and food. I will never stay on site and just throw away money and my autonomy.

Reviews of the bungalows from bloggers have also stated that even for the extremely high price, Disney is unable to provide an experience that matches such a premium price. There are problems with plumbing and the amount of available hot water, as well as disturbances from the ferry whistle which sounds early in the morning and late in the evening. For any other room rate, I would easily overlook these issues, but not for that price.

During my last Poly trip I met a super cool group of people while at the pool. They were staying one week in the Bungalows for a 40th birthday celebration. 5 adults.

If you break down the cost that way it's actually less expensive than a regular room.

I think they look awesome, but I also think they were built for situations including that example. Larger parties, combined parties, and of course a few very wealthy single families. As it stands I am not a very wealthy family, and since I'm not splitting the bill with 3-4 others, chances of me ever staying in one are slim to none. Lol

There are some things some people love that others don't care anything about. We have some friends who went to WDW many years ago, came back proclaiming how much they hated it, how there was nothing to do and they have never been back. Baffles me, but if it is not for them, that is fine by me.
DH could lay by the beach all day with frozen drinks. I've got to be active. It's give and take on our vacations so that both are having fun
