I think 12 is the minimum age to ride alone...I think a child can be with an adult.
I'm not positive though...you should call Disney Recreation (407-WDW-PLAY) to find out for sure.

Hmm...those look they could be fun for an upcoming trip.

Can you take them around Seven Seas Lagoon when you rent from the Poly?

Are advance reservations necessary?

A child under the age of 12 years can ride with an adult. My son has been riding the sea raycer with my husband since the age of 4 years old. They provide everyone with life-vests. Now that my son is a teenage, on our trips to Disneyworld we have to hire two sea raycers as he now drives it alone.

Thanks for the info! Has anyone taken a 2 year old out there? My husband is having gastric bypass in June and really looking forward to being able to rent them for the first time and take our 2 year old with him. Kind of a "right of passage" since he's always wanted to rent them, but was too heavy to do so before.

I don't think that there would be a problem taken out a 2 year old. Last summer we were going to take my youngest son out who was 3 years old at the time but the wait for the sea raycer was too long in the hot florida sun as they were all out. There are life-vest small enough for a toddler. My son had an xx-small life-vest on waiting for the sea raycer to come back and the CM's knew he was only 3 years old. He was disappointed that he didn't get to go out in the end but he will go this summer. I did see toddlers out in the sea raycers at the Yacht Club Resort last summer. They also have xxx-large life-vests for larger guests. The CM will give you a quick lesson in how to drive the sea raycer before they let you go out it in.

I am interested in buying a Sea Raycer. Where? How? What does WDW do with the old ones when they replace with new?

Lord why

They are underpowered, handle like a brick, and take forever to get on plane.

They are fun for what they are meant for - tooling around the waterways of WDW, but as far as personal watercraft choices go, you have much better options.

For anyone worried about restrictions: other types of craft are available and don't cost a whole lot more. These are bigger and safer so I imagine the restrictions are quite different.
