The DW and I decided to spend the weekend at the parks. We're less than 40 minutes away so we went home every night. We both work in Orlando so we hit Downtown Disney after work on Friday night.
New shirts on display at the World of Disney store.
New POTC display.
Then we hit mini golf. We'd never done either of the golf courses on property. We decided to do Fantasia Gardens. It was really great fun.
On the way out, we could hear Fantasmic going on. It's close to there and the music was pretty loud.
Next day we went to MGM in the afternoon. The lines were super short. You could walk right on to ToT and RnRC was about a 10 minute wait even though the sign said 30. For those of you who have seen the lines in the summer months, this queue was refreshing.
We ate dinner at the Prime Time Cafe. The bar area is completely blocked off with black tarps. It needed a redo. Last time we sat at the bar and ate. The whole place smelled like rotten beer. Nasty.
If you've never had the Smores dessert, I highly reccommend it.
This part of MGM begs to be photogrpahed in black and white.
The next day we went to EPCOT. Everything was at the most a 15 minute wait. It's a great time to be at the parks. Not a lot of people and the lines are super short.
Here's the queue for Soarin'. Again, if you've been here in the summer months, you know this isn't the end of the line any other time.
I love this part of the queue.
There were two dolphins in the main Seas tank. Pretty cool to see them swim and jump together. You always see them jump from the top of the water. Interesting to see what they do below.
We're not pin traders but we did go to the pin trading event just to check out the World Pavilion. Pretty cool inside and out (even though it's just a big hangar). They had a lot of stuff on display like old rocket cars and the Snow White cars you could sit in. There were all kinds of themes for trades (20K Leagues, POTC, etc).
Model on display inside the event.
Never saw them bringing out the globe before.
Went back to see the Hong Kong Disneyland display I had seen a couple months ago. I loved seeing all the models. Even though the signs were still up for the display, the doors were closed with this sign in front.
We went on M:S Lite and I was pleasantly surprised. You still get pushed back in your seat during takeoff. You still feel a lot of the same motion. I thought it would be limp but I enjoyed myself. In front of M:S, we got a rare sighting of Mickey just standing around. No one even anywhere near him. This is the true test of how empty the parks are.
Hope you all enjoyed it.
