Weekend after thanksgiving...

Anyone know how the crowds are the day after Thanksgiving and the weekend.

Hubby and I are planning on taking my grandmother down for the weekend.

Also, does any of downtown disney have the crazy day after thanksgiving early morning sales. I normally go shopping when we are home, I was hoping to get in on some sales while down in disney but I am afraid to brave the crowds of orlando area shopping other than disney by myself. Hubby doesnt get into the early hours of shopping.

Books and shows say a "down time". Even a Samantha Brown Show showed her interviewing people in Hollywood Studios during the day and to me it looked empty! We booked 2011 for this week and all the Christmas decorations will be up with so much more! Just gotta roll the dice!

Thw weekend after is very nice in terms of crowds. But as for sales, I'm not sure. I know they have sale events for AP holders, and certain items you can get for free when you spend a particular amount, but otherwise....

I think some of us may be getting confused here. Do you mean the weekend after Thanksgiving as in - Thanksgiving on Thursday - then you'll be there that Friday, Saturday, Sunday (the 26th, 27th, & 28th?)

If so, Touring Plans Crowd Calendar lists crowds at a 10 for Friday, 9 for Saturday, and 5 for Sunday. That's a 10 out of 10 for Friday - so that's about as crowded as you can get. That was also my personal experience in 1995 (but let's keep in mind that was 15 years ago! ) It was super crowded that Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We drove home on Sunday, as I suppose most people do - thus the 5 on Sunday.

No idea about the sales, but that would be AWESOME if they did and you were there to shop them! You'll have to let us know!

Even if it is crowded, if that's when you can go, you should go! When we went at Easter 2 years ago it was PACKED, but we still loved it and had a fabulous time!!!

Oh, well then the crowds will be pretty heavy, and no, I don't think Disney will have any "Black Friday" sales, unless it's a AP event or the like. Sorry.
