Week after Thanksgiving, what is going to be open in DHS?

As far as I have gathered here none of the expansions will be anywhere near open yet, and GMR is apparently going away in the late summer so I am trying to figure out what is even going to be there for my family consisting of a 1 year old, a 2 year old, and a 6 year old. It kind of looks like Toys Story and some shows?

Am I missing something here or should I plan to spend about an hour in this park this year?

Not sure I would take a 1 and 2 year old on Toy Story yet - ride can be kind of jerky. Just my opinion.

Oh, I don't plan to, but my wife or I will take the older one on it. Should have clarified, that is the only ride in the park that Logan will ride

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
GMR sponsorship by TCM is not even ending this year. They did a 3 year contract back in 2015 so it would/should be around until 2018 sometime. GMR will likely be around until some of the new lands open if it changes. These are all rumors nothing official.
And most all will still be open later this year that is open now which is 90% of what was there before. Only Lights , motor, action stunt show, and a few other minor things closed. It's under a lot of construction but most is still there and will be still open. ;)

I will never understand why people reply to these posts which there seems to be a new one every week. It's always about them and their vacation. I get it, you want to be informed, but why should I do the work for you? How about reading any number of the threads on the current construction and general goings on at DHS on this forum. Seriously use the search engine.

I would assume the attractions that are open are the same as right now. Nothing is planned to open in 2017. The firework/projection show might change again.

I believe the current rumor is that GMR will close by August of this year.

Yes that's the current rumor, but with the contract going into 2018 before it ends that seems odd it would close before then to be reimagined as featuring Mickey and Disney movies as predicted. ;)

The original contract doesn't come into this.

The new ride isn't about "Disney movies". Just a specific genre.

That was the contract signed in 2015 for 3 years with TCM for the current ride yes, not whatever they reimagine it to I knew that. And Yes it could be easy to get out of but why would they early. We shall see. Could close yes , but also like some things they stay open longer than rumored. Lol ;)

There's several reasons.

As you say, we will see. Believe me, I hope I'm wrong with this one.

Not saying you are wrong but until I see something concrete from Disney then I always take it with a grain of salt. But would miss it of course being our trip isn't until 11/29-12/12. But if and when it closes I'm sure what they put in the theater in its place etc will be great too. ;)

ummmm - likely very little. Just us, we don't plan on returning to HS for a good 2 years.
All personal opinion - I'm not necessarily right, no one else is necessarily wrong.

Most of the park is still open lol...just looks like a lot is closed due to the walls. Still plenty to see and do and likely the same later this year. Don't see why people say not much of the park is open. Very few things were affected for expansions. ;)

Martin knows what he's talking about.

I know that I have been on here almost 10 years. Never said he was definitely wrong, but Disney also is known to change their mind or push things back etc, and just said I still never believe it until Disney says it. And just gave my perspective and opinion on the rumors. Martin very well may be right but we don't know that yet. ;)

Gotcha. I'd love nothing more than to see it stay open. I fear two weeks ago was my last ride :( would be nice if someone who has a say in what's going on at DHS could convince them Mickey needs to be a new build.
