So yeah, out of nowhere a storm has popped up.
We could feel the RV rocking and opened the blinds to see the tops of the palm trees doing a frenzied dance.
We went outside to batten down the hatches just as the buckets blew over and the carpet lifted. We stashed as much as we could in the truck, dragged the picnic table over to anchor the carpet, and lowered the canopy on the freestanding tent structure.
The wind was blowing so hard, it disconnected the cable. As Mike was reattaching it, the rain started.
Now we are watching Golden Girls and riding out the bumpy storm. Should be over by 2:00 am.
Before anyone frets, a stationary RV can easily withstand winds in the 80-100 mph range. We are nowhere near that. All the RV sites I Googled say you may feel like you’re in a tornado, but truth is only rare occurrences like Irma will actually flip a trailer.
