We support Roy and Gold! Thread

Following the Walt Disney Company, it has been difficult to see the resignation of both Roy Disney and Stanley Gold; their letters expressing profound concern for the direction of the company, and its steady movement away from traditional values set forth by Walt himself, truly voice the opinion of many Disney fans around the world who have silently protested the lack of care and respect the current CEO Michael Eisner has for Walt's vision. Michael Eisner has my complete vote of no confidence, and like so many, I believe he should immediately resign so that a fresh breath air may give life to the ailing company that so many love around the world. I feel Disney stock is worthless at this point in time and would not invest until the current CEO is removed, and the chaos in the board is eliminated.

The arguement about how great a CEO Eisner has been in getting the share price up and dividends out to the share holders, just shows how $$$ obsessed the company has become.
I only went to Florida for the first time in Sept 2000.
My first Disney footsteps were Sep 11 2000 at the Magic Kingdom, and I appreciated why it was such a good description.
But I've also since been to Paris, and seen how cheaply its constructed, how poorly maintained it is,how few great rides there are.Its a cheapened version of my memories, but I've had the same comments come back from friends who have been to Florida since us,and they say the same things are happening there too.Less staff, more unhappy staff, less thrill, less magic, more cheap games.
On top of this ABC is losing viewers and revenue fast, the local Disney store sells cheap Winnie The Pooh imported plastic rubbish,(hello wheres Mickey?),and the recent animation output trend trend has been sequel,sequel,re-release,sequel,straight to DVD,sequel.
At least with a Disney on the board, there was a chance the vision of magic could return.
Hope you come back soon Roy.

As I have said before, Eisner may know the cost of everything, but he knows the value of nothing.

Well done Roy and Stanley.

I don't hate Eisner. In fact, he has made some incredible contributions to the company...however, lately Disney as been in a downfall. Such a trend can be seen in the quality of the animated pictures, television programming, and even in the theme parks themselves.

Imagineer99 is in.

Time to move on!

It is time for Eisner to move on. I've been a technician at Disney for over 10 years now and since Frank Wells died, the company has been going down hill since. I believe Wells was really the glue that kept this company together.

I hope Roy Disney and Stanley Gold can make enough noise and get the backing needed to move Eisner out. It's a great feeling to see that Roy and Stanley are finally saying what we as cast members have known for years now.

Go Roy and Stan.

I don't necissarily dislike Eisner, but I agree 100% with Mr. Disney and Mr. Gold when they say that the company is in desperate need of new blood. Many great things have happened to the company while Eisner has been in power, but I think that it is time for him to bow out and give over the company to someone younger and with more energy and excitment about what he (or she ) is doing. I wish both Disney and Gold godspeed and let's all hope that a new era of the Walt Disney Company is on the way.

I am FULLY supportive of Roy and Stanley's return. I find this whole mess crazy that two of the GREATEST minds on the board can be cast aside with the talk of "the reach the retirement cap" for GOD SAKE Roy carries the Disney name. I dont see Eisner's family having any big impact in the creation of a Company that was blood, sweat, and tears to be built and maintained.

I totally agree with Roy's statement that Disney has lost its imagination in allot of ways. Many of you know I was very disappointed with Mickey's Philharmagic its time for a shake up and its time for Eisner to either go or time for him to not be in the for front. If Bill Gates can do it I cant see why Eisner cant.

Roy and Stanely if you have people searching the web for supporters you have plenty. Disneys biggest mistake is they do not listen to their audience the general public. People like us.

Its time our voice's are heard.

From the disasters of Disneyland Paris and DCA to the underutilization upon opening of MGM and AK, the once proud Disney theme parks are a shadow of what they used to stand for.

A great animation studio is wasting away shipping out inferior sequels to classic films rather than focusing on the rich, grand films that all of us came to love.

An underpaid cast and overpaid management destroy the morale and magic that I came to know as a child.

Cheap, unimaginative attractions that are out of place like Aladdin’s Magic Carpets to cloning attractions placing them in every park. The lack of development of true, Disney Imagineered shows and rides.

The utter failings of ABC from great highs to unimaginable lows, destroying a great show by over saturating the market, the lack of quality programs that are aired. The trashy movies released under arms of Disney so the public will not know how much garbage the company is releasing.

All of this leads me to the conclusion that the control of Michael Eisner must end. Complaints for years about the devaluation of the Disney name has not made Mike change his focus and goal.

Enough of the money hunger, power crazed control of the company. It is time for new leadership, bringing a renewed focus on the dreams of Walt Disney.

Everyone has had enough. Stanley Gold and Roy Disney have finally had enough. They cannot support this any more. Why should any of us?

I support Stanley and Roy. I will help them fight this leadership until it is gone.

Please keep Walt's ideas and dreams alive! Walt really understood that money wasn't the most important thing - that dreams and happiness surpass money by far! Please bring back the good old days of Disney! GOOD JOB ROY AND STANLEY!
