Pre-Trip WE HAVE TO GO BACK! (April 2016)

Wow.

Well, this is quite a surprise!

We JUST got back from Disney on 9/26!! I hadn't been in ten years, and honestly didn't expect to be back for quite some time, but as luck would have it, it looks like we are going to be back in just SIX SHORT MONTHS!! I'm seriously still kind of in shock!

So here is a bit of back story to explain..My co worker has told me that her and her significant other are going to start trying for a baby...right now. I'm totally cool with this except that we normally vacation in September, and really any way it plays out if she were to be successful in the new few months, it would mean no vacation or any time off for me for up to 3 months. We always go to the beach, and so my brain started racking. We could go in early spring, but no, too cold, and basically it just went like that and me calculating out how many months from each month and blah blah. It got overwhelming. I knew that no matter what, I'd be pretty safe in April or May but it's not warm enough for the beach. Disney briefly came to mind but I thought "no way will i be able to talk my husband into going back this soon!" So all day today I looked up prices with the help of my mom (remember, she planned out entire vacation!) and I came home in hopes of trying to convince my husband that I think this is the best thing to do in regards to the uncertainty of my coworker being out next year. It didn't take much convincing! He was surprised that we could stay for as cheap as we could and that was it! We decided we are going to do it! I am giddy like a school girl!

I LOVE my beach trips, and the fact that I'm so excited about this is a bit surprising! So that's that! This is SUPER early in the planning process (and that step is OMG i'm still in shock!) and I know all of almost NOTHING right now except that we will be staying in a Value this time around since we are footing the bill. LOL

Anyway, that's all I've got right now. I honestly can't believe it! Stick around!

Thanks! They are usually just so ornate, and I don't have time or money for all that! just trying to think of some colors that are Disney like... I love Belle and Little Mermaid, but yellow nails.. eek. So maybe i'll do the green on all my fingers and do my ring finger purple or something. Ah! I don't know!
Have you seen the Little Mermaid Jamberry nail wraps? That is what I am planning on doing for our trip!!

Oh the pre-feelings.. I can't wait till I'm 30 days out. :D I was going to suggest the Jamberry nails also.. I warned my nail guy that I have an upcoming Disney trip so he needed to start practicing his Mickey heads. His response? "You're killing me." :hilarious:
It's so exciting being so close! I can't believe it!!! :)

and yeah, Jamberry is cool but I know for a fact I wouldn't have the patience to do that myself! I'd mess them all up. haha.

Me too! I got the knock off ones from Walmart before Jamberry became popular and my mom had to do them for me.. and even then, it took FOREVER. I just don't have the patience for it lol. I much prefer going to the salon. ;)

I think if I ever did anything to my nails my tech would have a melt down LOL Mostly from shock as I've been going to the same person for YEARS!

I'm the same way! Lol. I've been going to the same guy for almost a year now and he's so loyal and good to me that I could never go elsewhere. He went on vacation for 3 weeks and came in the Sunday before he left (when they're technically closed) to do my nails because he couldn't fit me in during the week. He's wonderful!

Hello everyone!!
I ended up staying up until midnight to make my FP's and got everything I wanted, including a M&G with Anna and Elsa! Harper is going to lose her mind! She's SO obsessed with frozen. We watch at least once a week! I love it too, I won't like, I might be the one suggesting it about once a week!

Today we paid off our trip~!!!!!! How exciting!! It's a lot of money, but it's worth it and we just know Harper is going to have a blast on this trip! I cannot wait!
Im hoping for lots of pics on Instagram! Maybe a video of Harper meeting the Frozen sisters too! Apologies for not being so active in the TR forums. Im sure you have seen the craziness ive been working with (the dogs). Glad to see the planning is going well and your all paid up! What great feeling when you get that part done. Very excited for you guys!

@wdisney9000 , Did I miss something in some other thread? I thought you just had Akira and were working with a trainer, ever since you and your wife got her last year. Did I just read (above) that you have more than one dog now? If so, doggie details, please!

@ScarletBegonias , we're all excited for your trip--it is approaching rapidly now! Really looking forward to a TR after you return, by the way. :)

We got our Magic Bands yesterday!!! Weeeee!
Harper saw them and immediately wanted to pull them out of the box, but I do not want to lose them, so I had to put them away!

Yesterday I put together our packing list, and we are JUST starting to pack! We are so "behind" this year! Behind for someone who usually packs with 50 days left. LOL.

So I found this cute dress that's very foliage - looking to wear to Animal Kingdom, but then it occurred to me today, what the heck am I going to wear on my feet? I'm not wearing sneakers with a dress. I guess i'll try to some flip flops. It'll be our first day in the parks so my feet won't be dead yet. I should have thought about this before hand, but now I just love the dress, and I have to wear it. :bored:

We are getting really excited about telling Harper we are going to Disney. She's not two yet, but she really understands us when we ask her things. The other day we said "Do you want to go back to Disney!?" and she said "okay!" and went over to the front door and tried to leave. Hubby is really excited for the day we get to say it and actually mean it! Of course we will leave at 8am on Friday and not get there until Saturday afternoon, but we will still be on our way! :D

You know you are getting close to your Disney trip when you are counting how many "days of work" you have left! I only have 13 days of work left before Disney! I cannot believe how close we are now, and we are all getting really excited now. We are leaving in 18 days. AHHHH!

It's already a little depressing though because it's going to be over before we know it and we aren't planning on going to Disney next year. Since we want to go back in 2018 to see the Christmas decorations (and stay at WL) We thought about going to Myrtle Beach next year to save up some money. My mom keeps saying "On the way back from this trip, you'll be planning your Disney trip next year!" I keep telling her "Nope!" but I'm not sure. We could get in Harper one more time while she's still free, but as you all know, Disney is not a cheap vacation. I won't lie when I say this vacation is taking our ENTIRE tax return. We do have other things we could have used this money for, and I don't know I can justify it again next year. Of course, we are saving up a little bit of money of our own too, so who knows.

We wanted to stay at WL, but my mom is trying to convince us to do Fort Wilderness. It just seems so... non Disney! I don't know. I really like the idea, but then I keep thinking about AKL, and if could save the money to stay Deluxe, I'd probably stay Deluxe. It was just so nice.

Anyone else stay at Ft. Wilderness? Did you like it?

That's a thought! We were going to stay at POP this year, and then upgrade to CBR a couple months ago. I'll have to see how much money it would cost us for the beach VS. next year at Disney. My parents are going in March and said we could join them. They are staying at CSR. However, a value might save us a good bit more.

I just don't know! I do love Disney, but I also miss the beach and also want Harper to see the beach !

Never stayed at Ft. Wilderness, but the cabins look nice. Plus they have horses on site, and the whole atmosphere looks very fun and relaxed. I think it would be a great place to bring a kid. (Then again, I suppose you could say that about any of the WDW resort areas.) I've stayed at WL and loved it there, and went over to Ft. Wilderness to explore (this was about 6-7 years ago). I really liked the vibe over there. It's a bit like "old" Disney charm.
