We give thanks...

Thursday is Thanksgiving for Americans, when we commemorate the first "thanksgiving" that early settlers gave in prayer (whether that was at Plymouth Rock or Berkeley Plantation in Virginia!) by stopping to give thanks today.

I know that not all countries celebrate this holiday, or even on the same day when they do, and that this is an international forum; but I thought it might be nice anyway to share some of the things here that we offer thanks for this year...

I will start....

I have MANY things to be thankful for, but among them are...

my father's good health despite diabetes, Parkinson's and high blood pressure

a loving family overall

only modest damage and inconvenience from Hurricane Isabel, despite four trees down

...

Aaawwee what a nice idea prberk! :)

We don´t celebrate Thanksgiving in Mexico, but I wish we did. We usually do this with the "Posadas" and then Christmas Eve and eat more or less the same things -sans pumpkin pie and cranberries -plop! :( :slurp:

I give thanks for the family I have and the opportunities God has been giving me during my whole life. :)

I give thanks for Maria's Butt ( the thread lol ) because its given me some good laughs on bad days.

I also give thanks for the fact that I found these forums and that I could talk to people who care for and love disney as much as I do, because no one else I know where I live loves disney as much as me.

Oh yes, and I give thanks for the fact that the Haunted Mansion is comming out tomorrow, and that I'll see it on thanksgiving day!:sohappy:

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!:sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

This one's easy...

I give thanks she said yes when I asked her to spend the rest of her life with me (and yes I did it in true Disney fashion).

Of course there's all the usuals, family, life, & happiness. But that one really overshadow's the others.

I'm thankful for the obvious things... family, friends, my health.. But what I'm especially thankful for this year is the fact that I was accepted to fullfill a lifelong dream of mine... to work for WDW. It's helped me to believe in the phrase "when you wish upon a star your dreams come true." For this, I am truly thankful this year.

so i am thankful for everything normal - because i have a great life - we all do. we have computers and talk to each other - there are people who have never seen a computer. but other than the normal family/health thing - i am honestly thankful for all of you guys!

i have 'online friends" - i used to make fun of people who had friends online. you guys are always here for me and for others. i am also glad to be rooming with jonnie on the wdwcp who seems halfway normal. but right now i have to go to the bathroom - and i am thankful for toilet paper. i think right now my parents would be thankful for air freshner. happy thanksgiving.

Anywhooo... I am thankful for being employed... (after being unemployed for the first half of this year, and almost loosing everything.... again).

I am thankful for my good health, good friends, and my family even though I may not get along with them sometimes.

I am also thankful for Redbull, Mountain dew, and mass quantities of coffee that has helped me stay awake while working 2 jobs now... :p

I"m with ya, man. 2004 has to be better.

It's been a tough year, but I've learned to be most thankful for the small things in life and especially thankful for a wife and family who love me unconditionally and have helped me through some difficult times this year.

And I'm thankful for this place being an oasis in a desert many times for me in the last 6 months.

Thanksgiving will be an interesting day. I would have to say I am most thankful for the people that love me and are always here for me. It has been one tough year. And without those people who knows what things would be like now! This is what I am truly thankful for! And that God has put these people in my lives!

Ok, I'm bout to start crying! LOL

YOU GUYS ARE SO SWEET! Oh my! Now I feel pressure to say something that doesn't sound stupid.

I'm thankful, of course, for all my "moms"... my mom and my mother in law, who do so much for me, even though it is extremely inconvenient for them to do so most of the time. :)

I'm thankful for my husband, who is working his tail off to provide us with a comfortable life just a few more years from now. He has worked with more focus and drive than anybody else I've ever known, giving up those early 20's most people spend drunk and partying to study and raise little girls. :)

And I'm thankful for those little girls, all four of them, who are the smartest, sweetest, prettiest, most caring, generous, compassionate, talented, beautiful, genius... sorry, what are we talking about? :lookaroun Those girls have taught me so much. They are such a blessing to me. :)

And I am really thankful for all of you. All of you who I have had the pleasure of really getting to know, you are so special to me. :)

But most of all, I am thankful for the american cheese spirals up through the middle of all the flowered meats on a bed of beautiful greens, and fruit salad! :slurp:

Happy Thanksgiving!
