Trip Report We are venturing outside our comfort zones and hoping the reward is worth it!! April 11 -23, 2021

Hello! I am, again, going to attempt to do a semi livish trip report and then fill in the details when I return. Like Rapunzel, when we made these plans, I definitely was taking a leap a faith! I, like all of us, have had a long year. We are DVC members and it was time to use the points. It is that simple. I can't tell you how thrilled I am now!

The cast remains the same! Den (my husband), Deighton(me), Hunter (16), Camden (9), and Brinley (5 and starts kindergarten in the fall). Some of us are a lot taller and some of us wider...

We fly Southwest out of Pittsburgh early Sunday morning and land in Orlando around 10:15am.( I feel like I struck gold with 2 nonstop flights!) Then we head to the home where animals belong, a one bedroom villa at Animal Kingdom Lodge until April 19th. Then we move to Cabana Bay Beach Resort until the 23rd. Universal is a whole new world for us. Any advice for the entire length of stay is welcome!

I will be posting our plans soon! Thanks for reading! Another big thank you to those of you who posted, happy, positive thoughts and reports during these crazy times. It definitely kept time moving forward and hope alive. It keeps me smiling and tearing up to see your children growing up on this platform! Happy Thursday everyone!!

Did Hunter get into the park at 2? Did you manage to get a boarding group at 1? Or did I miss your updates?

Edit: You must have been typing while I was, and then my daughter came in to say goodnight before she studies for her German test and goes to bed, so it took me a while to actually hit the "post" button.
All good!!! So far all news is good news!

We usually plan to make a reservation at Brown Derby and decide that while we're there we may as well add a few days to visit the parks!
Cobb Salad and white wine for me please. Every time we go, I pretend that I am going to order something different. Haven't made that step yet. We love this restaurant!
I know, I just can't take it off the list. Plus the salad seems bottomless. I had to have a cappuccino to refuel! Thanks for following!

Good parents take breaks.
OMG this made me so happy. I'm a long time lurker. As a single mom, I remember my first single mom trip to Disney, my son was almost 4. Between the heat, the stroller, the meltdowns and the realization I was alone I needed a drink. So I grabbed a drink for the pool,I felt like people were staring at me. I asked the bartender if this made me a bad mom, his response "the bad moms are the ones that don't drink"

Well my phone is finally operational again...boy do I have stories from Hollywood Studios Day! They will have to wait until I get home for the most part. Let's just say it was a day of many memories for now! I love something to talk about!

My family agrees the skies are safer without Brin piloting! Thankfully she has many other talents!!

I imagine he didn't mean that mom's who don't drink are bad...I hope not. I'm not a big drinker myself. But I think the bad moms are the ones judging you. You're on vacation and being a mom is hard. You deserve a treat, whether that comes in alcohol form or not!

Good Morning! We are off to a very late start. I just didn't have the heart to wake the kids early after they walked for 12 hours yesterday! Way to go team!

Heading to Magic Kingdom and it is our only day there. Brin and I made it on the bus but Den and Cam were left behind. We are going in separate directions anyways. Brin and I are headed to Splash Mountain.
