Under what set of reasoning is building a brand new coaster attraction that seems very popular, and is based off a unique to WDW ride system, and putting it in the one park that did not provide any type of coaster based ride a mistake?
For many the ride itself is fine. It's the theme that many hate. It doesn't fit what Epcot is. It's more of changing all the parks to feeling the same.

A lot of people question the theme of the attraction. It's trying to behave like a world showcase pavilion in the middle of the former future world.
Tron may have been a better compliment to EPCOTs future world than guardians of the Galaxy.
Right wrong or indifferent some feel that it's a great attraction in the wrong park. And likely while Epcot needed a coaster, this was not the right coaster for Epcot. Either way here we are.
