WDWmagic's Ultimate "Disney Nerd"

Amongst my circle of friends, I hold the title of the Disney Nerd. Like many of you, I appear to be like any other normal, mild-mannered devoted husband and father. And I never really thought of myself as a Disney Nerd until the day I called wdw reservations and the cm mumbled under his breath "that can't be right" when looking at how many times I've previously been to the world.

But when I took a recent podcast's Disney Index test, I was surprised to find that I actually scored pretty low. But it got me thinking that I'm probably nowhere near Ultimate status. But who is?

I've been trolling this site for almost 10 years now (even before it was WDWmagic) and a lot of people have come and gone in that time. All have been passionate about WDW, but in my mind ultimate goes beyond mere passion. Beyond a simple creative license plate, or annual trip.

Ultimate is developing a disney podcast about Disney podcasts. Ultimate is having your child's birth induced on 10/1 so that they share a birthday with WDW. Ultimate is taking samples of the water on Smallworld so that you can recreate the smell for your swimming pool.

Who among us shows such passion, such zeal, such blind devotion that it makes the rest of us disney fans gasp in awe?

I'm sure each member of this site fancies themselves the ultimate Disney Nerd, but I can quite clearly say without bias that's it's me. :lookaroun

My birthday is Oct 25, MK's dedication day/Grand opening. Does that count for anything?

I am nowhere near obsessive, mainly because I go whenever I wish, but if I lived further away, I may be more "Nerd-like".

What about when people that you know go to wdw and you know nothing about it untill they call you at 9am and say "hey, were at Epcot, what should we do first?"

I second the nomination.

In my small circle, I'm the Disney nerd. It's a shame really, because no one will play Disney Charades or any other Disney games with me... :(

Me neither! They all say it's no fun because I'll just beat them. Well I can't help that! :D My sister is pretty good competition though. But I still always beat her too

I wouldn't consider myself the ultimate nerd, but my wife thinks I'm nuts. My computer stuff (computers, routers, wifi ssid, etc.) are all given Disney related names. My iPod is full of Disney podcasts. I was also born on July 17th... the day that started it all (for the parks).

Me too! I have the Disney Music Game & Disney Scene It, but nobody will play them with me!

I'm a Disney nerd, I spend most of the day trying to find new secrets for my next trip. I themed my upcoming wedding Disney, complete w/hidden mickeys. I'm having a mad tea party bridal shower. I'm just a dork - but it makes me happy.

I have a friend that "Disney competes" with me...but she's no real competition :p
