WDWMAGIC now features an RSS Feed allowing the use of the Firefox browser's Live Bookmarks feature.

<!--StartFragment -->"Live Bookmarks is a new technology in Firefox that lets you view RSS news and blog headlines in the bookmarks toolbar or bookmarks menu. With one glance, quickly see the latest headlines from your favorite sites. Go directly to the articles that interest you -- saving you time."

How to Setup Live Bookmarks
<!--StartFragment -->Go to the Bookmarks menu and select 'Manage Bookmarks'. Under the 'File Menu', select 'New Live Bookmark'. Create a name for the Live Bookmark and add the URL. New articles from that site will appear as Live Bookmarks in Firefox.

For more information on setting up Live Bookmarks, see http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/live-bookmarks.html

The Live Bookmark addresses are:

That's great Steve, you're really keeping busy with all these little new features! Much Appriciated.... but can you add the following code to the head section of the main page, so the RSS Button appears in Firefox?

PHP:
<link href="feed_url" title="feed_title" rel="alternate" type="application/xml" />

Then you get the button like in the picture, which helps set things up easily :)

Yup I am looking into that. Just looking into how to best handle the different choices of RSS feed though (news only, forums only, both etc.)

I tried this, it doesn't show up on the bar .
Go into Bookmarks, then Bookmarks Manager, and make sure that the WDWMAGIC bookmark is in the folder called Bookmarks Toolbar Folder.

You are able to put multiple tags in each page:

link href="feed_url" title="WDWMagic News" rel="alternate" type="application/xml" />
link href="feed_url" title="WDWMagic Latest Forum Posts" rel="alternate" type="application/xml" />

I'm so computer stupid when it comes to things like this. I don't get it? Can someone explain this to me like I'm 4 years old?

I'm confused.

I have the URL for the forum one in a live bookmark, however it won't update. It has all of the posts that are in the in Forum URL when I copoy it, but that's it.

hmm, I thought it updated automatically? That's strange. Have you tried right-clicking and selecting Refresh Live Bookmark? (although you shouldn't have to!)

Well, I was right the first time. Live Bookmarks should update automatically, except there is a bug in the current release that causes them not to.

It should be fixed in tonight's nightly (if you're in to using Nightly builds), or the next proper release!

*A new build every night comes from Mozilla.org which has all the latest work done to them. They are not guaranteed to be stable, but have all the latest features and fixes in them. Check out www.mozillazine.org -> Forum: Fx -> The xx-xx-xx build is out threads to see what has been fixed :)
