WDWMagic Meet-up, Mystery Science Theater-style?

Hi All--

I'm aware that quite a few of the members of this forum are fellow fans of Mystery Science Theater 3000. I just saw that some of the former Cast of MST3K are doing another Rifftrax: Live presentation in theaters nationwide on December 16. (Unclear on the concept? Look here: http://www.ncm.com/Fathom/Comedy/RiffTrax.aspx) I was able to attend the showing of Plan 9 From Outer Space at the AMC Pleasure Island, and had a blast. So, assuming that the AMC PI will again be featuring Rifftrax: Live, would anyone be interested in meeting up somewhere in DTD and going to the show in a group?

Last time so many other things were coming out and I was strapped for cash so I didn't go...

But Christmas Shorts? Hilarious. I definitely want to make that one!

And since Pleasure Island is the closest Fathom theater, so if I'll be going, that's the theater I'll be in!


I love Fathom, they've showed quite a few Japanese films, Long Way Down, and now this!

The Plan 9 show was awesome! I had thought about going to see the encore but was low on money.

I can't wait to hear more details about this Christmas show! Too bad I don't live in the Orlando area or else I'd love to join other fans at the PI AMC (I really like that theater.)

Aww... I wish I could go.

I think I'll still see it though locally. I didn't see the Plan 9 one because I was busy. I think the riffing of Rudolf is worth the price of admission alone!

Slight update: the event will be broadcast at 8:00 pm on December 16, with an encore on December 17. It'll include various Christmas specials, shorts and commercials, featuring a version of Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer. Weird Al Yankovic will appear as a Guest Star! AMC Pleasure Island is confirmed as showing this in addition to many other theaters across the U.S.

I went to the show with a few friends, and had a great time. I was kind of bummed that Weird Al only riffed one short, and I wasn't too sure why they picked the swimming short, but other than those two quibbles, I thought it was great.

I thought most of the shorts were great! The Rudolph one had everyone in the theater rolling in the aisles. I too wished Weird Al had a bigger part. He didn't even Riff that much on the one short. And yes, the swimming one was odd... Otherwise, had a great time, and now I'm listening to my "Sparkly Vampires" mp3..

I made it! Was still unsure morningof, was able to pull the away team to pleasure island. I was wearing my Servo Academy shirt and my Death Note hoodie if ya saw me. HILARIOUS. Theater was packed too!

Hmmm...can't say I recall seeing you. I was about halfway up the theater on the right side, wearing a grey and red polo shirt.
