Premise
As part of the 20th Anniversary of the Imagineering forum, we have a first of its kind mashup of imagineering instruction and participation. The World Cup is a spiritual successor to 2016's The House Cup - a Harry Potter themed imagineering event.

This September, imagineering students will be back at 'Hogwarts' but not to compete, but to learn from some of the best Professors the forum has to offer. For the Fall semester, some of our brightest minds will share their knowledge on how they design imagineering projects. Each week, a different imagineer will demonstrate in their own unique way, how they create custom artwork, videos, and more, in a step-by-step format. This is intended for all to learn from and try themselves in their current competitions such as The Imaginarium, One Sentence Competition, or personal projects to hone their own development as creators.

Then, in December of 2021, utilizing the theme of the Quidditch World Cup, players will choose a desired nation to represent, and play in a solo, single-elimination tournament to decide a winner.

Challenges will be voted on and created by the community, and stored in the Gringotts Bank of Challenges. Eight contestants representing eight different nations will compete in a 3-week bracket-style format, harkening back to one of the forum's past December competitions - the Elite Eight, last played in 2015.

Challenges are designed to be small and manageable, but the stakes will be big! The intended cast for the game would be those who have never won an imagineering competition before and/or learned something from the Imagineering 'Professors' during the Fall (and then could use those new skills in the tournament!)

Estimated Timeline

Professor #1: September 7th
Professor #2: September 14th
Professor #3: September 21st
Professor #4: September 28th
-Fall Break-

Professor #6: October 19th
-Halloween Break-
Professor #7: November 2nd
Professor #8: November 9th

The World Cup Begins
Round #1: November 28th - December 4th
Round #2: December 5th - December 11th
Round #3: December 12th - December 18th
Both have been added to the directory and intinerary!

@JokersWild and @TheOriginalTiki I have also updated the directory to link to the new competition thread of SYWTBAI!

Where in the World is a picture game that combines trivia with your familiarity of Disney Park surroundings. Unlike the competitions that the Imagineering forum is known for this is actually more of a game just for fun! Just swing in every day of the weekend and you'll be greeted with three cropped and/or edited photos of increasing difficulty to guess! In total nine images will be posted over the course of the weekend. Every right answer gets the player an amount of points. The player with the most with the amount of points wins that weekend, and gets the chance to be the host for next weekend. If the winner declines the offer will go to the runner up. Each weekend may have a certain overarching theme or it may just be regular images the host wants to test players with! The debut weekend will have the theme of "Wild, Wild Weekend" featuring attractions, lands, theme parks, and resorts that are quite simply WILD at the Walt Disney World Resort!

See you all on May 28th, but until then enjoy this song that ties into the whole Where in the World vibe of this game!

Legacies is a celebration of the last 20 years of Imagineering projects here on this very forum! Legacies features a biweekly reflection curated by a few of us here on the forums to highlight some of the projects that many of us now may never have even been able to read simply due to when we joined. Every two weeks or so a new reflection will be posted right here in this thread for your reading pleasure with links to the original projects! So join us on May 28th as we all gather together to celebrate the Legacies left behind by many armchair imagineers and their amazingly crafted projects! If the legacy projects weren't enough modern projects will be included with interviews with their creators to really celebrate the long history and legacy that this forum has had!
