WDWCP Interview

I am going for my interview on Thursday. I have been once before and was accepted (couldn't go though) but I'm still really nervous about it. Does anyone have any tips they could give me? I know there was a thread in the Fall about typical questions that are asked. I just want to be as prepared as possible!

If you can, try to do a resume and cover letter! I did. Also, arrive early and talk to the recruiters a little. And last, be yourself! Show them how excited you are about the WDWCP. And how much you love WDW. Let us know how it goes!

I hate to disagree with our little Aimee, but if you're going out for a regular CP, a resume and letter might be overkill, to some degree. They are really just looking for a winning personality, some enthusiasm, the ability to think on your feet, and so forth. I suppose those documents couldn't hurt you, but I doubt any recruiter is really too concerned with what you've done before. I think they decide how highly to recommend you for a regular CP pretty much from the face-to-face they have with you.

I was just suggesting it, because it won't hurt you at all. Only do one if you have the time to do it. My recruiters were actually impressed that I took the time to do one. It's up to the person whther or not if they want to spend time on it. :p

I did a resume and a cover letter and got letters of recomendation and had the former CP referral card, and had it all in a packet with the online app. They were really impressed that I had taken the time to put all that together. And I wore a black suit and they thanked me for being so dressed up.

Thanks for all the input! I had a resume and cover letter the last time I interviewed and so did the girl I interviewed with, she even had hers in a snazzy resume folder. Our interviewer seemed impressed so I think I will definitly bring one again.

Who did you address the Cover Letter to?

I just saw this....I know it was a few weeks ago, but I wasn't trying to put down what you said, Aimee. You're right, it wouldn't hurt at all, but I just wanted to make sure anybody who was interviewing soon didn't feel like those things were necessities. I had a friend IM me, almost ready to freak out, after she read this thread, because she was about to interview and hadn't prepared anything like that.

I was just trying to explain that you can still make a dynamite impression with just yourself in those interviews. Sorry if it didn't come across that way.

Thanks everyone!

And in response to the resume issue: The girl I interviewed with had also driven to the presentation from another school but had not filled out the application online, she did however bring her resume. Our interviewer told her she needn't fill out the work experience part of the application. I doubt us having resumes made that much impact on whether or not we were accepted. I believe the facts that we wanted it enough to drive to another school and were dressed professionally plus she seemed to be impressed that the two of us struck up a conversation before our interview even though we didn't know each other.

:sohappy: Yay! Congrats SpaceRangrQueen!!!!! Yeah, I think the reason I got in was based off of how I drove 2 hours to get there, was there early and talked to the recruiters and campus reps and a few other people. No, you don't NEED the resume. Not having one won't hurt your chances at all. But, if ya got the time to do a good one, it wouldn't hurt to do one. (For those who may be reading this about to interview) The main thing is to be yourself. Again, congrats SpaceRangrQueen! And see ya there!
