WDW Speed way going electric???

Does anyone ever think that the WDW Speedway will ever go electric? Personally I wish it would. Get rid of those old gas go carts and go electric. Also I wish they would fix the steering in the cars. The steering is so loose when you turn you just bump the center guide rail. The speedway in Disney Land is sponsored by Honda, I wish Disney could get them to upgrade the attraction. It would also be better for cast members working there to not have to smell the gas fumes all day.

OK. Get TESLA to sponsor it. Do you think Mr. Musk would be interested?

The Speedway is a giant OSHA violation. Many of the cast members working there in track do not wear hearing protection. My wife, who is an audiologist, has pointed this out to supervisors on more than one occasion. Electric cars would go a long way to fixing that.
OSHA mandates over 90 decibels in an area , hearing protection must be worn.

Disney is very strict and cautious with OSHA. They would never for example put girls in a lagoon full of bleach, diesel fuel, or submarines.

Gas powered cars, toxic fumes, noise pollution.....Greta where are you??? Its time you made a PSA regarding the destructiveness of the Speedway to the planet. Disney will surely cave to the outcry.

If Disney cared one iota about what Greta thought, they wouldn't be planning to end DME. That's going to result in substantially more single care transportation in Orlando.

She hasn’t started the campaign yet. She can bully them on both fronts, speedway and DME. Disney surely won’t want the bad publicity going against the powerhouse Greta. They will eventually cave in.

better if Speedway was going away.

No attraction in the annals of Disney parks around the world matches that eye and ear sore. It wouldn't be the worst ever but it just happens to take up so much acreage-too much square feet of ugly.

Will it go Greta? Probably.

Recharge time might be problematic, whether the vehicles’ batteries could run for 12 hours a day on an overnight charge. Under-floor contactless chargers? Actually, I think WDW would like to reclaim that valuable inside-the-park real estate for another rollercoaster rather than renew the Grand Prix operation.

Recharge delay may very well be one of the obstacles to this seemingly obvious proposal. Maybe either have multiple fleets(i.e. 1 on track, 2nd on chargers), as many fleets as needed, or wait for better charging/battery combos. Waiting seems to be winning.

While I actually like the sound and feel of the current Speedway, I wouldn't miss the fumes too much and being in Tomorrowland, well... electric would be nice, or some alternate fuel source. I imagine it's probably a matter of time.
