There wont be. Disney is trying to price out the low spenders and cater to the "whales".

It's like video games, you pay and then you keep on paying some more.

EMH is a goner...that's been determined by a simple common sense assessment for awhile. We just have to wait for them to hatch the egg.

...sure they can and you'll line right up - as usual. But don't worry, I'm sure a paid "experience" will take its place.

Infact...I'm starting to hate that word...they're wearing it out these days.

It could be a magical experience! I would pay a little extra if I could spend more time in the parks without crowds or skip the lines. So would everyone else and that wouldn't weed the crowds out.

I agree with this too, unfortunately.

I used to be able to argue for friends how much you could do at WDW as a resort, and show how it was worth it. But now they have made it so expensive to do ANYTHING that it is just not reasonable. I am reminded that you can go to the real Bora-Bora for less than a week at the "Bora-Bora-inspired" huts over the water at the Polynesian. Not to mention a week at Nags Head for less than the cost of a week at The Beach Club.

It reminds me of the simple pleasures that the kids had the movie, "The Florida Project." They had awful people around them and crazy stressful things surrounding them, but still found time to play and amuse themselves for what they could afford (nothing), all in the shadow of Walt Disney World.

My point is simply that WDW does not need to charge crazy prices and wring every nickel out of us. The legions of loyal fans were inspired by something that was truly unique in the world and gave us something amazing that we could afford, at least for a while. And the quality was above reproach. But not so much any more.

Back to two things: the environment created on Wall Street since the 1980's that makes it quick strike gambling...which is not how the market should operate...

And for disney: espn. An overcharged cash cow on a collapsing system (cable) that the consumer is moving on from more rapidly by the day...

Boy, they're making those Disney Springs resorts that offer the 60 day FPs look more and more appealing, aren't they?

Except you need to book thru Disney to get that benefit, and the pricing isn't always the best vs booking direct with the resort.

You get EMH either way.

Many hotels charge for parking though. And no one blinks an eye (where's the outrage at Universal, who does this). I don't support this decision at all, but just saying ... Universal charges to park at their resorts, which bothered me, considering I have an annual pass and don't pay to park at the parks .... it's ridiculous they charge for parking. Disney should be different but are we really surprised by this? I'm disappointed. But we should have seen this coming.

"No one blinks an eye"??? I most certainly blink an eye (or both) when I pay $400 for a hotel room in NOLA and then get slammed with a $50/night parking fee. But you don't really have a choice...

Not entirely accurate. At least for the main brand who is benefiting.

I can only defend them so much to where a case like this it's impossible to do so. If this is true.

For those staying off property who want to park for dining, visiting, etc...that I can defend and understand. But for those of us paying already inflated amounts to stay on property and be nickel and dimed like this is insulting. It's pathetic and shameful. I'd rather they just raise the rates and absorb it into the already inflated prices over doing this. I hope they don't implement this. It's tacky and cheap.

Not to mention those who already have existing reservations shouldn't have to be blindsided by these secret hidden costs.

Maybe there doing this as a way to persuade people to not rent cars for their vacation. This way they can't leave to go to universal et al.

I think this is the closest thing to the "real" reason for it as anything I've read yet...

Simple fact is, the person visiting 365 days should pay more than the person visiting 14.

No. If Disney doesn't like a person visiting 365 days on an annual pass, then don't offer the annual pass. Instead, offer a 2-week, monthly, or seasonal pass. It's not abusing a system to maximize the use of said system.

You won’t be able to visit the Star Wars Resort unless you are staying there. Period. No Guests of Guests allowed. They are going to run the thing like a cruise line.

But the urban planner in me is very happy about this. Hopefully this leads to fewer cars around the area. More public transit and walking!

So if you have already paid for your reservation, are they going to now tack on a parking fee? Or, in my case, I have put down a deposit and have a set amount total to pay when I get to the resort, so are they going to tell me it's more when I get there? IF, this is going to happen, I think a lot of people are going to be angry especially if it's retroactive to an already confirmed reservation.

I always rent a car and the thing is, I stay at Disney even when I go to Universal. This trip is 5 nights at Disney but with two days at Universal. If they do this, then if there is a next trip, why would I stay all the nights at Disney? It would be three nights at Disney at two nights elsewhere, so they lose my two nights at a moderate or delux.

They tolerate it in disneyland...and the locals have been showering bob with praise - when he's not in the tanning booth.
