WDW Planning Questions - September

Hi Everyone!

Hope some recent visitors to WDW can help me. It has been three years since my last visit, and I know a lot has changed. Here are my questions:

1. Is there a bus from the All-Star Movies Resort to TTC? Call me old fashioned, but I will only take a boat or a monorail to the Magic Kingdom.

2. Why is the Magic Kingdom closing so early? I read on the WDW official site that the park closes at 6:00PM, yet even the Studios are open until 8:30PM. Isn't the Magic Kingdom the most popular of the parks with the most to do? And isn't it the most magical at night? Are park hours ever extended in September?

3. Does anyone know if the Carousel of Progress will be open the week of September 9?

4. Are there still nightly showings of Illuminations?

5. Are there any E-Ride nights schedules the week of September 9?

Any information is greatly appreciated!

2. These are the just the new hours for the fall. Disney believes that there are less people at these time, thus you should be able to still complete all you wish to see in the alloted time. I see it as more way for them to take our money, and give us less of a value tho.

4. Yep, 9:00pm every night.

5. Check disney.com park hours, they calanders will tell you if and when e-ride nights are on. http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/waltdisneyworld/parksandmore/parkhours/parkhoursindex?id=SEAllParksLocationCrit&date=92002

are you sure about that? I thought a bus from all the resorts goes to the TTC cause it is considered a major hub.:veryconfu

1. Is there a bus from the All-Star Movies Resort to TTC? Call me old fashioned, but I will only take a boat or a monorail to the Magic Kingdom. I don't think they do, but you can ask the driver to drop you off at TTC. I know there are direct buses to MK, you can ask the driver to drop you off at TTC if you wish but it may seem odd. Downtown disney seems to be the hub to access all other areas (parks/resorts) from the parks. Plus it operates late in the night since they close Pleasure Island at 1 or 2 am. Maps are availabe at the front desk, they'll most likely give you one at check in. One more thing, give yourself plenty of time when going through DTD. there's a bit of construction going on and they only allow 2-3 buses at the station at a time so it may take a bit to get to your destination (went on 7/13, may be finished by now?) DMC: I tried to go from MK to the Boardwalk. I thought i could go from TTC but found out there were no resort buses there. We had to go to the Studios and take a ferry from there. DOH :brick:

If the parks is closing that early it must mean that they parks are really really slow. But if the park is full the may extend the hours? Plus if it's slow you can enjoy the park to yourself and enjoy all the attractions.

4. Are there still nightly showings of Illuminations? Absolutely yes!!! It's only been cancelled like 3 times. (for a huricane, 9/11, and that one power outage this year, may be one more?)

I think your answer is more toward the park being closed. I believe (and someone correct me), but hasn't Illuminations been canceled because of incliment weather in the past, more than just a huricane?

During our trip in July we found that the times posted on the website were showing much earlier times that the park maps for that period. Hopefully you will find the same as 6pm does seem rather crazy to me.

hey Everyone!! Cymbal I believe you are correct. I usually go on the buses and I have NEVER seen a bus that says that it goes to the TTC. If you are taking a bus to the MK you are getting off by the front gates, no monorail or ferry needed!! If you want to take the monorail, my advice would be take a bus to EPCOT and hop on the Monorail from there and take to TTC and transfer to the MK Monorail!! Have a great time

I was thinking that's how things worked. I used to have the Disney transportation system pretty much memorized...of course, I haven't actually been in so long that the memories are starting to fade...:(

And so you are waiting to go to Disney again because???? Carpe Diem!!! Go for it!! I am already planning for October 24th and if things had worked out I would've been there for 2 nights at the end of this month. Other obligations got in the way though!!! Make the plan for the F & W Festival!!!

Thanks so much for the info! I checked it out, and found a lot of stuff. We have stayed at FW many times, but you really never know what site you are to be on until you arrive.

There is still a website somewhere that gives the dimensions and description of each campsite. I wish I could remember what it was! That way I would have a list of sites to choose from when we get there.
