It's currently a store, sounds like they are converting it to food. Not sure what it is going to be.

Somewhere in the back recesses of my mind, I think I remember this being identified as a possible/probable location for an AK Starbuck's.

Yes, wasn't a new Joffrey's Coffee location being added near Flame Tree.

So I notice you keep detailed track of rumors. I'm curious who you track as the most accurate and who breaks the most news first that turns out to be correct?

In this specific case, he was citing facts. He cited Dan's posted permit, and then Steve's news article confirming the change.

But that's just decoration. to my knowledge (which is almost nil in the case of Florida requirements) no typically has to get building permits to put up holiday decorations unless there are permanent aspects to it (e.g. new base in concrete to anchor something).

They file permits every year for certain elements of the Osborne lights, and there are even permits for some of the Food and Wine Festival kiosks each year, so even temporary things sometime get permits. @Tom might be able to tell us why this is sometimes needed.

If it involves work performed on real property, the county needs to know. Hanging Christmas lights, not so much But installing structural elements or electrical service would.

Permit for room rehabs at the Animal Kingdom Lodge:

AK Lodge - Room Rehab

Also a room rehab at Pop Century for just two rooms running until the of August 2015. Seems like a long time for two rooms so I wonder if these are samples for a more wide spread refurb.

Rooms 7142, 7143 - Room Rehab
Sounds plausible.

They also just might be covering their bases in case they do not start when planned. It is easier to make a permit cover a longer time frame than refiling another permit.

Yeah, but 10 months seems overly generous for rehabing two rooms.

10 months is a lot of bed bugs.....nah...

I wonder if that's the building where the doors are so out of square on one corner you can't close the outside door easily? Maybe?

I hope though it is an effort to do very nice rehabs. Those rooms are rough and the bed springs will remove your kidneys.

I'm guessing they're doing a mock-up suite, and allowing enough time to do the work....have it reviewed....make changes...and so on.
