WDW park option "Extinct Ride Park" think about it!

I know it does not make much sense but if it is a funny thought. What park would you visit for the day if they offered an Extinct Ride theme park. All the rides that no longer exist from each park in one place. I know it would be first on my list to visit. Again I know this is not a real option and it would be very hard to capture the "feel" of the ride in a different location to the original. I just thought it would be a fun topic.
A fun topic indeed.

For me, it is EPCOT Centre 1985ish, hands down. As much as I miss dissapeared stuff from the MK and elsewhere, noting compares to the radical makeover of EPCOT. For better or for worse, that park has took on a new identity.

I might not even just rush to WoM, Imagination 1.0 and Horizons. If transported back, I might just stop at the sculpture in the SSE fountain, watch it slowly change colours, listen to the futuristic synthesizer music, and gaze up in awe at that beautiful sphere....

*sigh*

While not rides, I would like to see the Timekeeper and Tarzan Rocks again. Probably a lot of others but those two come to mind.

I would run and literally knock people over to get on 20k

:animwink:You would have to pick yourself up after i knocked you over getting to it first :p
You would both have to help each other up, because I would beat you both to it
Not a bad plan, but I'd say it would only work with some of the extinct rides. It would be better off as a new land, maybe something tucked away out back in DHS. It could be themed as a mothball lot where all the retired rides are stored, but they've been opened again in their current location.
That's actually a pretty cool idea! I don't think they'd ever try it, but this is a pretty viable option, if they ever were to even consider it.

Maybe the area or "park" could be called "Yesterland" like that website

I guess the next question would be how to design the park. Maybe have each theme parks rides in a certain area?? or do you do it by time i.e 70's 80's 90's etc??

I really like the idea of adding it to DHS. Maybe only have 2-4 rides that could be swapped out every 10 yrs etc. Depending on the complexcity of the ride.

In all seriousness would love to see that ride back!

I like the virtual idea of the park but its fun to imagine how they arrange all these long lost rides in a "real" park.

Okay, neither one of you can go to the new park. We can't have visitors being run over, all over the place. That is why we have Fast Pass.

Epcot is my fav

It would be awesome to get to ride Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and see Tarzan Rocks again!!! Also Horizons would be cool to ride again. I like the idea, but is it really something Disney would do...sadly no.

Guys I don't think any of us actually believe this is a legit possibility. It's a day dream thread. Wouldn't it be cool if? sense.

I would run for a surprise pick. Body Wars. Not sure why but there is some sentimental pull to this ride for me. I barely remember it, but it must have had some impact on me as a kid.

That's cool. I love it when people have their own private favourites.
Not that I do, I'm one for that vast herd that'll rush over to Horizons.

I'd be alone (evidently) in the Penny Arcade and loving it. Then I'd go jam my face in a pin screen in Imagination.
Oh, I miss that Penny Arcade so much! It added so much period atmposphere to Main Street. :sohappy:

Give us back the Penny Arcade. And the cinema too. And the flowers in MS West. Well, the entire sidestreet. I want a turn of the century Main Street, a symbol of a more innocent age, not the current cynical 'turn of the 21st century' glorified strip mall. :fork:
