Yikes, I almost forgot to vote in the semifinals!

(1) "Why Does Disney Continue to Ignore My Unerring, Supremely Wise Counsel?"

As I've said before, this is my clear favorite in the tournament. To illustrate why this entry is so close to my heart, I offer the following post from last year: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showpost.php?p=2129225&postcount=7

(4) Pop Century Legendary Eyesore

Total spur-of-the-moment gut pick. I sympathize with those who want an authentic 1930s-1940s Americana experience on vacation, replete with segregated swimming pools, children ravaged by polio and chart-topping period hits like "We're Going To Have To Slap (the Dirty Little )" (seriously...ask your granddad) playing in the common area.

:ROFLOL: Heh, that post was a true classic. And in the year following that landmark post, not a single one of those items was pursued by the Disney company. Idiots! Where are the D-Troops when you need them?

A vote at the last minute throws us into OT in both brackets! Phone the neighbors, wake the kids! We now have an extra five minutes of play surrounded by twenty-five minutes of commercials.

In the event of a tie, the Official Rulebook for the Wacky Brackets (chapter 6, section 27, sub-section C, line 12) calls for the super delegate (my flatulating dog) to break the wind, err tie. In the past 30 minutes, thanks to oldest son leaving a piece of pizza on a chair, we had 3 gaseous occurrences. That brings victory to our higher-seeded competitors.

That means the Final Four is no more, and the Final Two is due:

(1) "Why Does Disney Continue to Ignore My Unerring, Supremely Wise Counsel?" def. (7) "Why Was My Redundant Thread Deleted?" 2-2, but wins the tiebreaker!

(4) Pop Century Legendary Eyesore def. (9) DDP Shrinkage 2-2, but wins the tiebreaker!

I'm going to give everyone a second to understand the gravity of the situation now facing us. We need to crown a new champion, and we have until Sunday to do it. Which one generates more misplaced emotion? Which one is worthy of the dubious title Mickey Mouse Issue of the Year? It's up to you. Here now is your final match:

"Why Does Disney Continue to Ignore My Unerring, Supremely Wise Counsel?" vs. Pop Century Legendary Eyesore

Last call! Get those wacky votes in now before this tournament comes to a close. The Wand, our winner last year, has already removed its crown and is waiting patiently to place it on the new champion. Be a part of history and vote.

Introducing the 2008 Mickey Mouse Issue of the Year: "Why Does Disney Continue to Ignore My Unerring, Supremely Wise Counsel?"

The heavy favorite entering the tourney, this competitor from the Year of a Million Complaints bracket ended up the big winner. It should be no surprise to any of us who read the boards on a regular basis. In many threads on many different topics, we inevitably get a gaggle of posters who are utterly convinced that Disney would be far, far better off if they were at the helm. These posters, often reacting to a half-baked rumor and without any of the market data that is available to Disney execs, recognize neither the arrogance nor the ignorance of their positions.

Thanks to all who participated, and we'll see you next year!
