Yeah like Disney getting a huge chunk of H2B visa's (originally designed for unskilled agricultural workers) and then bringing people in from the Carribean to displace local housekeeping and food service CM's. oh yeah they come with a lower wage point too...

There is NO FREE labor market if large employers are allowed to distort supply and demand with an endless supply of foreign workers who will work for below market wages because they are high relative to their country of origin.

Unless of course you want to live in a company dormitory with 10 other people in your room who you are not allowed to talk to as is the norm for large chinese electronic production firms.

That's a good description of how Walt planned to run EPCOT. I have no doubt that Walt would have used the H2B visa program extensively at all of his parks.

Back in 1993 Disneyland got caught hiring illegal aliens. It's inevitable that operations with low paying jobs such as the various Disney parks will do their best to ensure that they have a steady supply of cheap labor.

Housekeeping and food service CM's are not at all unlike unskilled agricultural workers.

I love how the press blend offshoring and H1b comments as if they were one in the same problems. When a company offshores their IT.. its not an H1b abuse.

Correct, but it seems like the new way to handle things is not solve specific issues.. but lets create a mash-up of string pulling snips and try to get the mob riled up about it! It's how you solve everything now... just inflame, get people worked up, and they don't even need to know what they are getting protesting. The noise is the solution!!!
