I was going through some closets today and came across a "pictorial Souvenir of Walt Disney World" from 1972. Thought I'd share a few pictures:

So nostalgic. I am so glad you shared that.
Maybe you can email them to the webmaster and he can put them up in the Old Park Maps section.

I would like to see these again on this site without having to track down your thread!

Good idea!
There's also a page on the back about Future attractions: Space Mountain, Pirates, Tom sawyer Island, the people Mover, Big Thunder Railway, Western River Expedition, Fort Wilderness Railroad, and EPCOT.

Thanks for those, really brings back memories.:)

I was there either the year they opened or the following year. (Have to check with mom.) My sister sprained her foot badly and was in a wheelchair. I have such vivid memeories of that trip, but for some reason can't remeber exactly how old I was. I do rember the jungle boat trip, haunted mansion and 20,000 leagues subs being my favorite attractions.

Were they all there the first year?

There are pictures of all 3 in the booklet.

Is that the same Crystal Palace that's there today? I've not eaten there, but from walking by and everything, it doesn't look like the one I've seen at the MK.

For that matter, was that one even IN the Magic Kingdom? It looks more like a resort. In fact, it reminds me a little of POR, even though I know that one didn't open until the 90's. Did they have another restaraunt of the same name outside the parks, which they later closed and then reopened a new one at MK under the same name? Did they do a major remodel of the one at the MK? Or is this just what it looks like from the back, since I've only seen it from the front?

Does anyone have a list of attractions that opened with the park?
Here's what I found:

The Magic Kingdom opened with 26 attractions: Jungle Cruise; Swiss Family Tree House; Sunshine Pavilion (Tropical Serenade); Cinderella's Golden Carrousel; Dumbo Flying Elephants; Mad Tea Party; Mickey Mouse Revue; Mr. Toad's Wild Ride; it's a small world; Snow White's Adventures; Diamond Horseshoe Revue; Frontier Shooting Gallery; Country Bear Jamboree; Mike Fink Keel Boats; Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes; Hall of Presidents; Haunted Mansion; Main Street horseless carriage, Jitney, fire truck, horse-drawn streetcar and omnibus; Main Street Cinema; Walt Disney World Railroad; Skyway to Tomorrowland/Skyway to Fantasyland and Grand Prix Raceway.
The Admiral Joe Fowler Riverboat opened the next day, Peter Pan's Flight the next, and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea two weeks later. That made for a grand total of 29 attractions open before Dedication Day, 30 if you count both directions of the Skyway. By the end of the year, Tomorrowland was a bit more populated, with “America the Beautiful” opening in the CircleVision Theater in November and Flight to the Moon opening in December.

Cool pics! Love went when he was 2 1/2 in 1972 (I've got some pics here) but I wasn't even born yet. It's always neat to see old pics like this.

looove the pictures. butt i have a feeling that the tea cups picture is from DL and not WDW.. because there isn't a ..how should i put this.. a hood? over the tea cups. Unless back then there weren't.

When WDW opened, the Teacups did not have a roof.
