When WDW first opened, my family never went. My great-grandmother, who lived in Bradenton, took my brother and I. I went back with her once or twice afterward... I took my neighbor's kids one year and wanted to share my enjoyment of the world.... Fast forward many years and I wanted to give my parents a special Christmas gift so I booked them on a WDW cruise and 3 day park stay. I decided to take my niece and nephew and meet my parents on the 3 day park stay.....later my brother and sister in law decided they didn't want to be left out and joined us. Sadly, that was our last full family vacation. My niece and nephew have never mentioned wanting to go back. My brother is now divorced, but he and his girlfriend went to F&W two years ago and loved it. But never discussed going back. I booked my mother a trip a few years back and she refused to go. Literally got off the plane. That leaves me and my obsession.

The extended family all 'like' Disney and would go if they were so inclined, but I am the only one who enjoys the parks and would go twice a year if I could.

Some of these responses are so sad! My grandparents lived in Orlando, so growing up included many visits, many pre-EPCOT! Because of this, I guess, I'm certifiable in my fascination with WDW, but I have to say that I've passed that on to my daughter. She would go every other week if she could. My wife never went until she came with my family, and she loves the place. I just couldn't imagine (because of my perspective) having to go to the World alone. It's a wonderful place, but in the company of like minded people, it's even better. Hopefully, those who fly solo will find someone (s) to share the experience.

Stepping back in time, in 1965, when my aunt & uncle came out from California and we went to the World's Fair, they said this can't compare to Disneyland. So 11 years later, after I got my first job, I was determined to go there, so I saved up and flew out to California in '76, anxious to get to Disneyland. Loved it. I finally got to WDW in 1981 and loved it too. But I didn't become a fanatic until I met my DH in 1983. He has a complete collection of watches (love the Disco Mickey in the Saturday Night Fever pose), was getting the annual Christmas plate, statue and ornament, until that was discontinued (our tree is all Disney). Funny that his first trip to WDW was also in 1981. Of course we disneymooned (but not on property) in 1987. Have been back quite a few times and the kids are fanatics too. The best times had to be in 2001 and 2002 when we spent two full weeks with some of my DH's family (the kids had a blast). My older DS (he'll be 23 next week) --- one of his first words was "Ditty" (that's the way he pronounced Mickey).

Well I got my husband into it, before I 'made' him go on our honeymoon he would say he hated Disney and anything to do with it, however I am not ashamed to admit I have somehow gotten him to see the light and now he is just about as nuts with it as I am. And my son loves it so that is now 2 wins for me!! Outside of that, my family enjoys it I wouldn't say they are nuts like we are but they do enjoy it while the hubby's family could probably take it or leave it. His parents don't get it.

My whole family loves it! My cousin and her husband have been talking about Disney all year (she has never been) and they are planning to go in a couple of years when their youngest is old enough to remember everything about the trip.
These are the things that concern me. Among other more important things, I hope my husband, whoever he may be, likes Disney enough to appease me. If he loves it, I will be set (and blessed beyond measure!).

It's pretty much just me, my little brother doesn't really mind. Parent's don't like it, older brother just doesn't care as long as he gets time off from school. so
Yeah
I guess I am.
