Hey Everyone,

Odd question, but I knew if anyone would be able to help me out with this it would be right here! I'm working on a project for a business class that requires me to choose a company and answer some questions based on their "Code of Ethics" or simply put an Employee Handbook. Of course, I want to do The Walt Disney Co. I got some info from the corporate website, but it seems as though there would be a more comprehensive PDF or something.

Does anyone know where I could find a copy of any materials a cast member would get upon being hired/trained?

THANKS!

Officially, I'm sure that any such documents would be considered proprietary information and thus not legally releasable by employees.

Well I think it is to the discretion of the company. There are many other publicly traded companies (Ford, Kodak, McDonald's) that disclose that kind of info on their website under "Investor Infomation" or "Corporate Governance".

...not a big deal, I'll make the most of what I could find from Disney. Thanks anywase.

I'll echo what others have said as far as Cast Members being unable to release such information. However, you could try contacting Disney directly, stating your case, and seeing what happens (no guarantees, of course). A good start would be WDW Casting: 407-828-1000.

Yeah, its not like I was looking for anything too detailed. Basically just some of the policies that try to uphold when it comes to cast members, guests, etc.

i think its owned by disney and they can release it when they want, but i think cast members arent allowed to release that info with out permission, at least what my cousin just emailed it to said( i asked to try and give you the answer.) im sure disney has a condensed and modified version for the public who request it

Dont know about Dinsey, but where I work we have a Code of Business Conduct which is an overarching set of general business conduct rules. You can grab that off our public website. Then there is a set of employee rules and guidelines, such as clocking in and out, timekeeping, sick leave, vacation, etc. That IS confidential.

I think you need to differentiate between the two. Disneys code of business conduct (in fact they are more than one) are found here

http://corporate.disney.go.com/corporate/codes_of_conduct.html

Employee guidelines I would hazard a guess are confidential.

A code of ethics, otherwises known as a Code of Business Conduct is vastly different from an Employee Handbook. A handbook will tell you things like the number to call for vacation scheduling, and what holdays you have.

I have the Employee Policy Manual, Standards of Business Conduct and The Disney Look book right in front of me...but I can't release the information. :D

We all have a letter that explains that the information is privileged and confidential. So no employee, if they value their job, will release it.
