I really love that shot over the wall of the RoL viewing areas. It is one of the most comprehensive views I've seen and it gives an idea of how much (or little) the Tree of
Life will make up your view.

It's a great picture, but as it was shot using a very wide-angle lens, it's making the Tree of Life look a good bit smaller than it would appear in person from that location.

Is Avatar (at least the ride in this building pictured above) going to be screen based like Soarin?

I may be wrong, but it seems to me that the primary Avatar ride will be similar to Soarin but likely more aggressive, possibly including a wider range of motion. I suspect the boat ride will be pretty tame, but expect it to be a visual triumph.

I think they're just holding the walls. If the wind catches those temporary barriers the wrong way, they'd go flying.

Yes. Envision an L shape with the blocks stacked up on the lower L portion of the wall. The upper L portion is what you see of the wall on the guest side.

Yes. You can also see them on the sound stage 1 pics. at the base of the walls.

Yeah, we have seem them used to hold up walls for various projects. It's a convenient heavy object for weighting things down.
