WDW Birthdays

This is *really* early, but I'm working on getting my boyfriend to take me to Disney World for my birthday this summer.. he's never been and I used to live/work there, but now I'm living in New York and I miss it..

so I was wondering, if I'm there for my birthday, are there any places that will do anything special for my birthday? LOL.. maybe I sound selfish, but this is going to be my 30th birthday and I want to make it extra special...

could I ride in a parade or get someone to sing a song to me or have lunch with some characters or anything special? Should I tell the hotel it's going to be my birthday while I"m there?

Has anyone here ever gone on your birthday and what special surprises did you get??

I want fun birthday ideas!

EVERYWHERE has something special for birthdays. :lol:

You can pick up a "Today is my Birthday" pin at Guest Relations (or thereabouts) in MK, for one. Plus, the generic-celebration, "Happy Birthday"-singing fun, too.

You get a card signed by Mickey and friends, though! :sohappy: The parade would be nice... I think you also get a "Happy Birthday" wake-up call, upon request, from your hotel concierge. (free, of course!)

I'm the only one in my family (out of 4) who hasn't been able to celebrate their birthday in WDW (February 12, compared to May, July and Chritmas Day birthdays.)

Most places do things, but just keep in mind it is an "above" thing for the cast. I don't mean to sound negative, but I know people that go in expecting things to happen and it is a huge disappointment when they don't. If you grab the pin, that is a big help (Making a t-shirt helps more).

My advice, plan at least one meal at a place you really want to go to for your birthday. Wear the pin, and mention it to your server. You will usually get at least a nice dessert out of it and you have given yourself a gift if nothing else.
